Course Description: The Blue Course, another Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design is an excellent example of a resort course. It plays as a fair test of golf from all of the tee placements. Scoring well requires primarily accuracy in your shot placements and alot of thinking. The emphasis on this course is strategy, not strength.
I recently played the Wigwam Blue course and I realize this is the off season but I was a little disappointed. The greens were not in good shape playing very slow and bouncing all over. Being from the east, I may have been expecting too much after seeing Arizona courses on T.V. as this design looked like it was from Ohio. If I were in that area again I would play Palm Valley which was a block away and from the road looked like a beautiful Arizona course with each fairway surrounded by sand and rocks.
Enjoy 3 nights stay at JW Marriott at Desert Ridge Resort & Spa and play 2 rounds of golf at Wildfire Palmer and Wildfire Faldo, including golf cart, practice balls and all taxes/fees, starting from $365.
Price range: $365
