Worst Customer Service In All of Tucson
I want to share my experience so this does not happen to anyone else. The man working the proshop assuming hes the head pro there is a clown! Now let me explain I had a tee time scheduled for Sunday at 8:16 am which is the earliest they will allow non member on the weekends from what I was told. I called and booked this tee time on Tuesday earlier in the week (I have a call log on the exact time and date I called to book and showed this to them). My group got to the course at around 7:20 and the proshop guy looked to be the head pro says we got someone else booked at that spot sorry nothing I can do. The guy basically told me to go f**k myself and I never booked anything. Offered to get us out 2.5 hrs later in the day take it or leave it, his words. Make sure if you are not a member to get a CONFIRMATION in writing, this course will not send you anything automatically they will double book your tee time. In my 20 plus years of playing golf here in Tucson I have played almost every course with the exception of TCC and nothing like this has ever happened. I have never had a worse customer experience or have even been treated close to as so bad by any golf course staff then here at The Highlands. SAVE your money go play the Ritz, El Con, La Paloma, Tucson National, Quarry Pines, Preserve, The Views, Saddlebrooke all other great course options in the same area.
Course in fantastic shape
Very playable course for all skill levels. One of the most luscious courses in the Tucson area. Would definitely play this course again and again.
Excellent
Excellent overall experience playing at this course and it’s organization.
Great Course
This was the first time at the course and was happy with the course conditions; fairways and greens were in excellent conditions. This might be due to the large amount of rain we’ve gotten over the last couple weeks. Would highly recommend this course for the layout, challenging but fair.
Lush conditions
Recent rains have helped the turf to get into premium condition
Always a pleasure
The best kept course around. Hats off to the head greens keeper. Great work.
Disappointed
Well only 9 holes was open. Played it twice. The course needs serious maintenance, and tell all courses to put sand in the traps for gosh sakes. All in all the price was right but I’m weary of hitting off dead Bermuda.
The agronomic condition of this course is second to none. Tees, greens, fairways, aprons, traps were all in excellent shape and a real pleasure to play. Kudos to the greens keeping staff. I have recently played the Ritz Carlton course and the Sawailo courses and several Saddlebrook courses (Mountain View and Preserve} and Highlands is by far the best value for the dollar.
Club house staff for very friendly and polite as well. A fine day of golf was had!
Great course
The course is very scenic and is in excellent condition
Greens need to come through a bit more
Facilities were good , staff friendly
Overall I’d recommend to his course
Great Course
I have not played the Highlands for a while - so glad I found a tee time for great price. Everyone was awesome - especially the starter. He let me out a little early - played the front 9 in 1 hour. Hooked up with gentleman who works at the Highlands for the back 9. We had a great time!!! Will be back - in fact TODAY!!!
A Gem!!!
The Highlands is the best maintained public course I"ve played in the past year. Tee boxes, fairways are immaculate. No dead grass, bare spots. Greens role very true but can be difficult to read due to mountain effect. Bunkers in great condition. Very fair and interesting layout. Staff are great. Free driving range balls and excellent practice facilities. Course practically empty during entire round. No beverage cart but strategically located water stations and ice chest on cart and a take out snack bar at the clubhouse. A must play during the summer when they have open public tee times.
Great conditions.
I played this The Highlands at Dove Mountain in July. Considering the fact it was a July the greens and fairways were absolutely outstanding. Especially the greens. I was very shocked in a positive way. I will be back.
Great shape this time of year
The Highlands was in great shape. The tee boxes and fairways had nice green grass. The greens were punched a couple weeks ago, so they were in decent shape. By next week they should be healed them completely.
