Superstition Springs Golf Club

We had a 12:12 Teetime. Didn’t start playing until 1:45. Only got 16 holes in do to darkness. Disappointed no rain check for coarse issues of over booking

This public coarse is far too difficult for the average golfer. Any honest golfer who can break 100 on this course would be around 15 Handicap . Unfortunately the average honest golfer is around 23.
The difficulty creates frustration, loss of interest, damage to coarse and slow play.

The only disappointing thing (other than a cold morning) was the condition of the course where the drainage canal runs. I know it's not SSGC's fault, just the way the water runs after rain. The change in elevation and water areas were nice, but the garbage that gets left from the drainage is an unfortunate happening. I'm sure that is frustrating for course management. As far as everything else, it was a great experience from when we got there to eating in the restaurant.

First time playing this course. Challenging short course with small greens that were well protected. Pace of play could have been a little better. The marshall didn't seem to motivate the slow group in front of us. Three groups on the tee more than once. I would like a do over.

What a surprise in the flatland of the desert. This course was very challenging. Bring plenty of golf balls. Only downside were the drunks we were paired with. They really slowed down the game.

This course was very old. Tee boxes not mowed. Greens were very small and difficult to hit. Trouble everywhere on almost every shot. Not enjoyable to play as you have to hit perfect shot to hit these greens. Good course for 2 handicap golfer.
Not fun to play for the average golfer.
I am 10 handicap and found this course very difficult to score on.

We teed off at 1:00, 3 or 4 groups on EVERY hole!! 3 hours for 9 holes, no ranger, asked beverage gal to call ranger, said she would, this was on hole #4, no one ever showed up!!
Called golf shop. starting at 1:30, no answer!! How convenient!! Called the restaurant, she connected me to the head golf guy's office, voice mail, I expected no less!! We did NOT finish.....Will never, ever play this course again and recommend no one else does either!!! Would like a refund, but I'm sure that will fall on deaf ears too!!!!

Had a 12:44 tee time 2 days after Christmas, got there at noon and was told they had a 2 hour freeze delay, but fortunately 4 4somes canceled so it shouldn't be too bad - we ended up teeing off (in shorts and short sleeves; so much for the "freeze") around 1:30. We waited at least 5 minutes on every hole to tee off. Finally after 12, we knew we couldn't get all 18 in, so we bailed on 13, 14 & 15 and short cutted to play 16, 17 & 18 in the dark. Didn't see the course marshal once and no offers (free range balls, free hot dog, etc) to compensate for not getting 18 holes in.
Poorly managed, but nice, challenging course.

Make sure you avoid booking afternoon tee times in the winter. My tee time should have allowed me 4.5 hours of day light - but I was only able to finish 13 holes.
Took 3 hours to play the front 9.
The course starts its tee sheet too early then they claim frost delay - meanwhile backing up tee times all day -
Overall course condition is poor. I would avoid.
Food and food service was poor.

Very challenging course and in great shape. We really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of sand so be aware. More people need to fix their ball marks on the greens. We will be back to play again.

Very friendly staff, course in good conditions. Greens putting moderately fast. Nice layout and playing time very good for this time of year. Nice course for the money.

Maybe they need to put signs because it is not clearly specified when one arrives on Google Maps or any other GPS application the entry is confusing and that causes delays when arriving at the game
