Sun City Country Club
About
The golf course at the Sun City Country Club provides a challenging championship course in an elegant setting. The semi-private course has a tight layout with fairways that are lined with trees and bushes. The trees provide plenty of shade, a welcome asset on sunny days. The greens play at medium speed and they are consistently in good condition. Several of the greens are elevated and sloped. A water hazard comes into play on three holes on the course. The seventh, a 153-yard, par-3, hole is the signature hole. It requires a tee shot over water that has to carry at least 125 yards. The upscale Sun City Country Club offers fine dining options as well as an experienced and helpful on-site golf pro.

Nice course
The course was in nice shape for post overseed. Obviously older golfers there but courteous. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Price is great for Arizona. I’ll play again.
Nice BUT the seniors are back!
Great course. Pace was slow, no Marshall and the group ahead was preparing for the Senior Open. I was able to finish 18 holes by repeating the front 9 as the back up at 10 was a bit much. It's take time of year I guess
Great Course
Great staff, 6500 yds from the blacks, while short, the difficulty is present with bunkers, lots of big mature trees, dog legs left/right so you must work the ball with draws and fades. Rough is penalizing .5-1 stroke. Greens are soft and medium fast 9-10. Fun track.
great layout for senior
5,880 from whites- 6,200 from blues- just right for us 80 year olds- challenging but not punishing- 90 degree because of overseed was no problem- fairways have matured well-greens almost but very playable- had a great time
Overseeing over, 90* with carts.
Yeah. At least we could drive to our golf ball. I felt that the value was more like $70 for two, not $134.00. Fairways and greens grass was long and shaggy. A positive, the range was open on grass with new range golf balls. 4 hours and 5 minutes with waiting on most golf holes. You could get a candy bar or the like and an alcoholic beverage; however, no food was available. Overall, a beautiful day and a fun layout from the blue tees.
Nice value
Conditions were much improved and pace of play was not bad. Not great but not bad!!
Saturday morning, busy course
Course was full of golfers at all skill levels. Our playing partners shot 150+ for 18 holes. Our cart was barely running and was constant cause of concern. If you want a fun round of golf and don’t care how long it takes, Sun City CC is fine.
Ready For Overseed
Giving my review the benefit of knowing they basically have to kill the existing grass and weeds before overseeing the new grass. IF the course would have had ANYTHING resembling green on the ground, we didn’t see it - so our round was played on burnt toast. Give it a couple of weeks after they overseed and water the heck out of it before you consider playing here.
Last Day Open
This was the last open day for this course as they are going to overseed. The had already cut the greens and fairways down to the root system for the grass. Could not hold the greens or putt. The fairways showed dirt flying every time you hit one. Run Out was 60 yards.
Some of the tee boxes were sand. Just not good, that is the reason it was $35. They should not have had people playing.
I've played here before and it would be rated higher if not for this special reason.
Horrible Course Conditions
The management of this course should be ashamed of themselves for remaining open until greens and tee boxes are playable. I've never, and I mean, never have I been on a golf course this unplayable. The only thing that was a positive was that the day's temperature was at a pleasant 85° with slight breezes all day. If it wasn't for my playing partners company,, i would have turned around and gotten a refund on this round. Otherwise, if you're thinking of playing this course anytime soon...don't waste your $$, time, or energy trying to adjust to the nasty conditions for at least 2 months until greens and tee boxes are ready. I wish I had photos to show, but trust me, it was beyond bad!
SCCC
Pace of play was slow, but love this old course!! Everybody there is always very nice and easy to deal with. Nice range too
Play it, you wont be disappointed
ML easy money!!
Fair for the price
The course was a bit dry. There were some thin spots in the fairways. The greens rolled fairly good. They were surprisingly slower than they looked. There are several trees which need trimming and maintenance. There were a few large downed branches just hanging out in the rough. The back 9 rough was long. Lose your ball long. The greens are raised and if you land on the apron your ball will stop dead.
