Felt a little gouged
Fairways & greens were playable but as soon as you step off the fairway, it’s pretty much dirt. Not being locals, we paid $75 which seems a bit steep for this course. Round was enjoyable enough but will look elsewhere next time I’m in Tucson.
Decent choice
Got a good rate and wanted an open course to work on swing. Fairways, tees, rough (dormant) good. Greens smooth, mid-speed, could be cut shorter (IMO). Held ok.
Clubhouse still no real food, bar ok. No on course drink cart. Good range and putting green.
Vanilla golf, sadly sand bunkers (almost every one) have been seeded and given up on. This makes for a reduction in standard play, and adds to frustration as they are long and uneven (thatch).
Maybe the sand bunkers will return some day.
Pace was good, and usually is as course is open with few surprises.
Good Public Course
A little pricey for the condition of the course. It is a good, average place to play.
Lacking
The course was well laid out but lacked many amenities that are available on less expensive courses
Overpriced
This course looks like something from a bygone generation. It’s got some green grass on the fairways and the greens were in okay shape but the carts are about 30 years old, the brakes were unreliable and there was no sand in the bunkers. Also, very limited on the kitchen menu at the turn. Real rough experience.
Good greens, fair pace of play, friendly pro shop.
Always enjoy Crooked Tree GC
Course was in very good condition overall. Great practice & warm up facilities. Staff very friendly and they take good care of you. I was very disappointed to learn they’ve removed all the bunkers and let them grow in with grass. Makes the course much easier and not worth $72. Sand bunkers are part of golf! Always great to see my coyote friends!
Nice course
Nice course, was made harder by 20 mph wind. I had a pretty good score, but felt beaten up at the end.
Crooked Tree
Always a fun time at Crooked Tree. Wish they opened the restaurant.
Needs work
First time playing the course. The tees, fairways and greens were in nice shape, but the ‘non-rough
‘, cart paths, etc. need a ton of work. They also need new carts. The practice area is nice. However for the price, there are far better courses in the area. We played Sewailo the day before for the same price, and AZ National the week before for less. Those 2 are far superior.
Lee from MT
Enjoyed the course which was in very good shape for early February.
Only One Complaint
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The only negative I found in the course condition was that many of the forward tee boxes were mounded, making it difficult to find a level stance between the legal tee area.
All sand bunkers (green side and fairway)have been removed since I played the course three years ago. The green side bunkers are now grass bunkers and the fairway bunkers are waste areas.
Nice course
This course was in the best condition of any course I’ve played this winter. Greens were fast and rolled true. My only complaint is many of the teeboxes were very crowned, making it hard to find a level, flat stance.
