Different but challenging
This course gave an opportunity to practice our iron shots and putting on not so perfect greens. We enjoyed the challenge and it only took 2 hours. In the Az heat, this is a good thing. We will go back. How can you go wrong for the price?
Double Trouble
This course should really be taken off Golfnow list and whoever is giving this a good review is not being honest. Not mentioned in the information is that this course doubles as a "Frisbee golf" so that you have to wait for them to "hurl off" before you tee off.
I can only describe it as 'the worst Golf Course I have ever played" but I am sure it is probably rated as the best "Frisbee golf" course around.
Terrible
The reservation has a cart involved, and when we got there they said they were out of carts. I ended up paying a lot more for a round and didn't even get a cart. Bad service, terrible greens. There was sand everywhere on the greens, and spotty grass everywhere.
Quail Canyon Golf Course Review, Tucson, AZ
The course was the worst condition I have ever experienced. It was as if it had been abandoned. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in a state of disrepair. It was apparent that the course received little, if any, water. Greens were totally unplayable. The owner should either shut down the course or spend some money and make it playable. I would not recommend this course to anyone, even if you could play on it for free. I would also suggest to GolfNow not to bother including this course as one of its offers.
Failed to meet my minimum expectations
We checked the web site before booking and didn't have the highest expectations. We were greeted by a less than engaging man at the pro shop, who said our cart may or may not have enough power to make it sound the course.... Who said he didn't know if there was anyone working "if" something did go wrong. Who said the restaurant has not been open for 3 years.....
For a par 3 course, sometimes it is the people who make a difference and we did not find this to be so at this GC.
Short
This is an older course, but our foursome felt it was in need of more upkeep. We enjoyed playing, but still felt that this course deserved a little TLC which would make it more enjoyable to play. What we mean by recommending it to a friend is the cost.
Don't Do It
The positive reviews must be from people closely connected with the course. Do not give this place your money. I am not a golf snob, I just know the difference between a golf course and dirt/crab grass that has been painted over. Proshop staff was friendly.
Chris
This was a fun little course for practicing your iron shots. I lost one ball due to the crazy bounces, but it was all fun. Not at all pretentious and a great place for golfers just wanting to work on their game. Next time we'll take som friends who are relatively new to the game and want a relaxing time without any pressure. Great price of $10 each with a cart!
Very sad to see condition of course so bad. Used to be a pretty place to play. Very run down. We played 18 and asked how much to play another round and were told $28.00 for $9. With very few players and poor conditions can see why going down hill.
Waste of money
Qual Creek should close its doors and stop the bleeding cash flow. They are not maintaining this course in playable condition.
Do not spend your money to play this course. Greens were painted on the rough grass. Putting on them was like putting your ball on a pliko board.
Horrible Course
I have never worked with a more rude and terrible staff at a pro shop. The course was complete garbage with not a speck of grass to be found anywhere. the tee boxes were the worst I've ever played, and the 10 foot diameter greens mean a miss is a lost ball or unplayable shot due to there being absolutely no grass anywhere around what they call "the greens". Overall this is the worst course I have ever played and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There is clearly no course maintenance or care for it at all. The place should just shut down honestly
Had a great time
Had a little trouble finding the course as the address is off Oracle but you access off Rudasill. But once found we had fun. We booked 18 holes and when we finished we went ahead and played 9 more. The course is short and compact but well layed out. It was pretty narrow in spots and really tries your skill with irons but was in really good shape. It might be a little congested if busy but was not the case for us. The staff was very frendly and helpful.
Will play again.
Not a bad course, just bad management
I made a reservation on line for 18 holes with a 7AM T time for three and two carts. I arrived early and the #1 tee was crowded (which was fine) I checked in and they only had ONE golf cart. I paid for two carts and ended up with three pull carts for the same price. NO refund, NO apology, They DON'T even check their on line reservations. The first couple of holes were well taken care of and the greens were average. After that the course went to partly green and a whole lot of hard pan and dirt and the greens? After we got done with 9 we went back and turned in our pull carts and was given a pass for an additional 9 holes for three using a pull cart.
good for the price
Course was a short games tune up . Had fun and was lucky enough to play boogie golf.
Disc Golf
Overall, this course is a great deal. However, please keep in mind that for 18 holes it takes about half the time you'd spend at a full course. Also, you share the course with disc golfers, whose course is laid out throughout the golf course.
