Poor Communication
I booked a tee time at Marion a couple weeks ago on Golfnow and paid the deposit. Unfortunately when I showed up today, I was turned away because I was not a member. It was my wife’s birthday, and she was pretty upset, but there was nothing we could do. The staff member said they are not honoring any Golfnow reservations because of Covid 19, which I can understand. But why is the club listing tee times on the platform if they aren’t valid? The course was wide open. Thankfully we were able secure a place later in the afternoon, just disappointed in the customer service when we drove 30 minutes for this reservation and was denied the opportunity to play.
Started to play this course fairly often because it’s close to my house. Normally don’t have any problems, but today 4 grounds crew members decided to just sit on 13 green. Went up to the tee box, and no one moved so I just went on. Had no sense of urgency to move, especially when they all watch me tee off on the next hole. Was very frustrating.
Watery Day
Very beautiful course. The greens were fantastic, the overall condition of the course was excellent and the service was fantastic. However 18 holes and water in play on 18 of them, I played from the Blues at 6,400 yds and it was hard. Next time I'll play the whites and will probably enjoy it more at 6,000 yds. If you play pick the right tees.
Good Value
Course is in good shape. Greens are rolling really well.
Greens were recently punched but were rolling good. Fairways were beginning to green up from the winter. Fun track with lots of water. Can’t wait to play it again.
Great challenge
The course was in fair shape. It possess high greens surrounding by water everywhere. Every hole presents water on either side of the greens. The par 3's were long and are welcome with water overlooking it. The course is a ball placement course. The green had holes in differcult locations. The wind push the game into a tougher and harsh conditions but you were rewarded with good shots! I really enjoy the challenging course. I can't wait to return soon!
What A Challenge!
First of all the gentleman running the pro shop is Awesome! Kind and courteous!!! Greens rolled true, water everywhere, hit a lot of long irons off tee for placement!
Very fun golf course
This may be the only course left in the mid-south with bent grass greens. They are in great condition. Just wish golfers today would take a few minutes and learn how to properly repair ball marks on the green ( and this is not limited to this course, most in the MEMPHIS area have marks that can be repaired). The fairways are in very good condition. Water galore and not for drinking. Be prepared to lose some balls especially if you're right handed and hit it left to right. The greens putt true and were slower than the champions Bermuda at other courses. Staff was great and friendly and helpful.
They do need someone who knows how to clean and take care of their golf carts. They are in rough condition with marks, dents and scratches all over. Half don't have windshields.
Nice course
Course is in good shape. Greens are true. Make sure you call to confirm your tee time after you book online. Will defiantly play here again.
Challenging course
Greens and fairways really nice, greens kinda small though. Water hazards on almost every hole.
Long par 4s, had alot of fun
Hate that golf now requires 3 day advance on using rewards to book tee times
Marion
Green where in great shape. Players where very nice I was playing alone and 3 separate 4 somes let me right thru
Love IT!!!!!
What a fun and challenging course, water on every hole. The greens and fairways were great, tees a little unlevel. Staff and members very friendly, I can't wait to play it again and again and again!!!!
