#15 on La Quinta's Mountain is laying along the base of the mountains - stay tight to the base and go for this par 5 in two. The green stays snug up against the base and will not be in full view.

A quality course with below average post round amenities.

The Mountain course always entertains, and is in really good shape. Bunkers need attention, not enough sand. Unfortunately if you play after Noon there will be no 19th hole. PGA West desperately needs to staff the restaurant and bar and keep it open until at least 8pm Wednesday through Saturday.

Favorite desert course

The Mountain course is my favorite course because of the beautiful scenery. We have played many other courses in the desert including the PGA West Stadium course and the sister course on site, Desert course. This is one course that we will continue to play on a repeat basis. You won't find a more beautiful set of hold than the ones on the back 9. Excellent condition of this top tier course as well.

Scenic round

Have played there several times. Starter and marshals were friendly and helpful. Great layout. Greens were slow and course was soggy with active watering during our early morning round.. It’s become pricey but is of reasonable value compared with other area courses. It’s worth playing once to see some of the mountain-side holes.

Too Challenging

This is not a fun course for the average golfer. If you are a good golfer (<10 handicap), you might get a kick out of it. If you are worse than that, pars will be hard to come by and it will be a long day. It's a relatively short course with a high slope rating. The greens are punitive. All of them seem elevated, never flat, and hard and unreceptive to shots made over the always present bunkers. It didn't help that it was super windy for half the round and that the starter was not welcoming. The club house restaurant and bar seemed beautiful but were off limits that day because of a wedding. I'm happy to say i played it but will never do it again. Signed, no fan of Pete Dye.

Save your money!

We were not allowed to hit woods on the range. Big drawback! There was a wedding so the main putting green was closed! The green speeds on the course were well below average for a $200+ course! The cart girl paid no attention to our calls for beverages. Many sand traps were nearly without sand. All in all, a rather disappointing experience.

Omg is there a Marshal that can get players moving!

Well over four hours and no player assistant to get players moving . Paid for 18 but just go 16. Should call it the Pete dye waiting room. This is PGA?

Superb, best in the Valley

Our ONLY disappointment was a closed clubhouse when we SO wanted to stay for dinner.

Note: it’s an iron’s only driving range.

The course is absolutely breathtaking.

Nice course to play

The course itself is very nice with a fun layout. Sad to say though, our round started with a not so nice how do you do. After checking in and gearing up, I went to the starter stand to check in there, not starter. So we decided to hit the range for a little warmup. Sorry, range was closed. Ok, lets go putt a few. We kept waiting for the starter to show, it's now been over half an hour and still no starter . Ok, our tee time is in 5 minutes. We go to the first tee. Still no starter and the couple we're supposed to play with isn't there either. Finally, we take upon ourselves to tee up be on our way. We finish the first hole, and the starter comes racing out to give us the business about us not checking in with him. Needless to say we were not very happy. Not a good way to set the tone for an enjoyable round of golf.

Stunning Views

Love this course. It is unique as it is tucked in beside the Santa Rosa mountains. The 16th hole has an elevated tee box. It's well maintained and the scenery and views are stunning.
