Great 9-hole executive, I played well!
TLDR: tight but great layouts, wet in the morning, lots of elevation and fun-challenging putts.
I arrived close to my tee time, 7am for a 7:10am start--my bad! Traffic can build up on the way there. It is Los Angeles. It was still dewey, wet, while it rained a lot 3 days before this round. Practice greens were closed--too wet--and tee boxes were mainly not used--again, too wet. The hole layouts, somewhat tight, were fun and lots of elevation change! 2nd hole you tee off hitting uphill, 6th hole approach is downhill to the green. I kept the driver (~260yd club) in the bag except for 2 holes. Greens are decent size, very good conditions, roll well, and breaks are challenging. The starter made us a group of 5, but we still played quickly, and rarely waited on the 3-some ahead of us after the 1st hole. LONG REVIEW, thanks for reading!

slowwwww golf
this is a nice course but they started booking five-somes and it really slows the play. every time i’ve played here i’ve waited 10 minutes to hit on each hole, and be ready to wait 20 minutes on hole 6. this is not a quick 9 hole course and to me isn’t worth playing anymore
Pace of play
Honestly, if you are going to book a tee time with buddies and you know that they are still learning the game. I feel like it should be your responsibility to help them understand what pace of play means.
Three man group I got paired up with, two of their guys kept wandering off looking for their ball they lost in the woods, if I was their friend who was able to keep the ball in play I would tell them to just let it go and move on and drop or drop with them and turn the game into a 3-man scramble.
I did chime in once other players were waiting for our group to finish. I shared with him that it's best practice to start their shot routine and not wait until their buddy hits to begin their shot. I can tell they never really considered it and it wasn't until I brought it up that it clicked for them. Then I noticed that they wasted no time in beginning their shop process routine when their ball landed on the green. Soon we were back at a good pace and did not see the group behind us for the rest of the game after hole four.
Agony
This was a fun course to play until you started booking fivesomes. This was my favorite place to be in Los Angeles, but now it’s like waiting in long lines at a theme park. I’d be willing to pay a few dollars more to play on a nine whole course that took three and a half hours to play yesterday.
Great course!!!
Great views, great course conditions and great level of difficulty.
An LA Gem
Always a delightful experience playing Roosey. Don’t expect the best conditions but you do get more than what you pay for. I’m a 2 handicap and always enjoy the challenge of playing Roosey with five clubs. Super twilight at Roosey is the best!
Slowest round ever
One hour for first two holes. Absolutely disgraceful
Great views of city, fun course
Please repair your ball marks! Every green looked like the surface of the moon or a World War 1 battleground.
Fun layout and excellent value but needs a bit of love on the greens
Love playing this course but man does the pace of play SUCK
I love playing at this course. Its a fantastic 9 hole course in some of the best condition its even been in. The crews are really working hard to keep it clean and easy to play on. That being said I wish they put the same or even half that effort into helping with the pace of play. 5 people per group is already ridiculous as is, but letting two people tee off 5 minutes after their tee time to meet up with there group who was waiting for them on 1 is ridiculous. Be on time or miss a hole. The starter had no concept of pace of play. I would recommend this course to people but be aware it could take you more than 2 hours to play these 9 holes.
Did not have reservation
Prepaid for round and starter didn’t have reservation at checkin. Proceeded to be a 20 minute circus act until they finally let us on the tee box.
