Avoid
Starter is a a-hole…. Even if you booked the tee time for 4 people, he will add 5th person. Noticed it only happening with POC that I noticed because there was a guy who has no tee time asking if he could play with the group of 4 Caucasian older gentlemen and the starter say no (even though they say they allow 5 some). He was a younger Caucasian guy. But with two groups of people of colors, the starter had no problem adding a 5th person with no tee time to our group even though it says you won’t be able to play if you don’t have a tee time…. Also, the first time I played there I was late for 5 minutes and the starter politely asked the pair if I could play with them and they say no and it was fine… the starter has some issues with certainty ace for sure because he yelled at us when we questioned the 5th person being added to our group not knowing that you can do 5some…. Nowhere in the app says that or the golf course nor he mentioned anything.
The starter is an older African American person. Again, he definitely treats people differently according to their race.
Great course
My wife andbi have played many courses and found the players of this course a tad better than other courses. Fun course to play.
Very nice course.
Checked in for 1:50 tee time only to learned cart rental cutoff was 1:30... Would have been nice to know this at time booking reservation.
Very nice course. Would be a 5 star if you ask me if it wasn't for slow pace of game. Wish it was a 18 hole.
Roosevelt is a nice executive muni with great views that's challenging but still doable in <2 hours assuming speed of play keeps up.
Fivesomes can make that a challenge, especially on the weekend.
On the bright side, no carts, and regularly available tee times, unlike the other 2 Griffith Park courses (which are also great but impossible to book)
$10 hot deals make this one a no brainer.
Great views and value
Perfect stop to play golf in the middle of LA, great place to bring guests for the great views and quick game
Great views and value
Fun nine hole course with good staff! A good place to take visitors from out of town for the nice views and quick play
The good, the bad, and the solution.
The good: a true value for 9 holes at $10-$16. Hard to beat. Nice little shop where you can grab a snack or a beer and relax after your round. Fun course with a few challenging holes. Lots of elevation changes and gorgeous views of the Hollywood Hills and the Griffith Observatory.
The bad: there isn’t anyone regulating who is teeing off on the first hole, and there isn’t anyone regulating the pace of play overall. So, the 5:00 tee time group (of 5 people) will tee off at 5:07, and then the 5:10 group (another 5 people) will tee off immediately behind them at 5:15, and then the 5:20 group (another 5 people) will tee off immediately behind them at 5:22, creating a nasty bottleneck for the entire round.
The solution: Charge $2 more and limit groups to 4 people.
