Goose Creek GC
Goose Creek...just a marvelous place to play a round of golf. There isn't anything this course lacks if you're looking to play, practice or just enjoy a day out. It's home to exceptional practice facilities, a quaint clubhouse and a well stocked pro shop. There's always a friendly greeting, from the cart shed staff, to the pro shop, the cart girls have plenty of ice to spare and right through to the grounds keeping crew.
The layout is superb, the fairways are generous, turning both ways and there is a wonderful flow to the course. The greens are large and undulating, very receptive and roll out fast and true. The bunkers are all in the right places and the challenges are innumerable. Goose Creek is a stern classic layout that will require golfers to examine every part of their game. Brilliant.

Checks all the boxes
Course is in great shape, even after all the rain we have gotten. Played on a Saturday morning and finished in under 4.5 hours. Staff is friendly. Always a pleasure to play here.
Goose Creek GC
Played here on the 9th & 10th, two completely different rounds. Played with reckless abandon on Feb 9 and scored 102. Played on Feb 10 with good swing thoughts, stroked the putts well, avoided penalties & scored a 79. What a difference a day makes. Goose Creek offers a very good mix of holes, fairly wide fairways that will roll out. The greens are exceptional, true rolling, get your putts started on the right line and they will fall in. Good value for your golfing dollar.
Arrive early & take advantage of the practice facilities available before your round...and practice!! The group behind you will appreciate it.

Goose Creek Championship Caliber
Played Goose Creek teeing off at 2pm on the 31st. The course hosted the USGA Mid Am qualifying in the morning. Had use of the Driving range and facilities prior to teeing off. Fabulous facilities in Private Member Club conditions. Staff was above average in all respects.
Course conditions were outstanding. Greens are the courses primary defense, and are in excellent condition. No signs that there is a drought going on, the fariways were lush, and the rough perfection. Out of bounds areas are bamboo forests so forget a ball headed in there.
We played from the USGA blue tees which was a challenge. the tee boxes could have been greens at some muni's.
Love this course.
Enjoyable Course
The course is in excellent condition. Greens are a fair challenge. Generous wide fairways. Love the practice area. You can warm up all facets of your game, putting, chipping, bunker and regular iron and woods. Love the course.
1 of the best Golf facilities, Hands down
Goose creek is hidden, surrounded by bamboo forests and not many people know about it. (at least around me) But once you go there you will definitely go back. It is one of my favorite courses to play at, has the best range, pitching, putting practice areas. Course is in pristine condition, pace of play is better than most LA OC county courses. Costs around 40$ bucks (twilight) but the course is well worth the money.
Great overall facility and fair design, tough greens.
Co-designed by Brian Curley, his designs always have a slight friendliness for driving, so it's never overly difficult for the tee shots, to mostly wide fairways that give you choices on how to approach the greens. On many holes you can go right or left off the tee a little, and have a different look towards the green. You can play a draw or a fade throughout the course, which is what makes the design so clever. What makes the course difficult, are the greens themselves. So the Par 3s are tricky! The variety of the green layouts is what makes this place so tricky and fun to play. Many of them are quite undulated, and if they are packed tight and rolling, the putting can be so tricky! The Poa Annua can be so slippery and wobbly, you have got to be dead-precise. Most of the time they are extremely quick, and you have better hope to have an uphill putt in the right place! But besides the slope and undulation of the greens, most of them have drop offs on many sides, and so you just do not want to miss the greens, EVER! The chipping can be so difficult, you had better have excellent touch and spin control of your wedges. But the greens are on the larger side, so if you can plan to drop it in to the larger area of the greens to stay away from the drop offs, then it's all about your putting and that is one way to play the course well - hit it to the fat of the green. The course is almost in great shape most of the time, however, I think the greens can be rolled flatter as they do tend to get bumpy due to the nature of the grass type. If the wind kicks up, you had better pray, as the approaches to the greens have to be dead accurate! But it's such a fun place to play. I wish it was closer to the city. But the setting is nice, next to the creek, with some bamboos growing and the place is always lush and green. The practice facility is great, on grass and it has a bunker. The practice putting greens are perfect all the time! No wonder why the SCPGA comes here for all kinds of tournaments and qualifiers. Worth the drive any time.
Excellent Course with Variety and Value
On the recommendation of a friend of mine who is a PGA Pro I ventured from Irvine to try this course and since have played it 3 more times despite the hike! The course is in great condition with fairways well-maintained and greens that roll fast and consistent. Water is not an obstacle until 18, but the wind comes into play on every shot. Club selection is imperative! Moderate amounts of bunkers, but they are easy to escape from as the sand is fairly packed, I actually chipped out of one!
Note: there are no GPS systems in the carts so bring your iPhone to calc distances.
Practice facilities are prestine with chipping areas and grass tees.
Resturant is nothing fancy, but does the trick (free soda refills too!).
Overall, the course is a great value providing a great day of golf on a course with character!
Played out here last month and going back this week:
Beautiful course stuck right in the middle of some low income farm community. The course will far outshine and out smell the surroundings. The course really reminded me of some courses I played back home in the Dallas area, relatively flat but the course offers risk/reward golf shots. VERY very green course which is nice to see and the greens are very smooth.
Overall if you are getting tired of canyon golf (like I am) going here is a no brainier. Just please for the love of god repair your divots and ball marks.
