SJ Muni, My Happy Place
Lock in another fun round at my home course with my golf buddies. Course wasn’t summer dry at all. Greens were a little dotted up with marks but that’s not management’s fault. This day pace of play was slow because we were behind some golfers that just didn’t rush at all while taking selfies and hitting unlimited mulligans. I have endless patience so as long as we did finish, it’s all good. No birdies today but somehow I shot a 88. I rather shot a 95 with one birdie but I count everything. Staff was friendly, carts were clean, so can’t ask for much more. Next weekend, I’m due to make at least 3 birdies. Way overdue.
Decent course
Greens and tee boxes were in good condition. Greens were a little slow but not surprising with the draught. Fairways were good but not consistent.
Flat, wide open, long enough, my happy place
This is my home course. I always get excited when I know I’m golfin here that day. It’s a great challenge for my 12 handicap. I’m tired of courses that are not a par 72. SJ muni is 6700 yards, par 72 from the tips. The par 3’s are a good variety of length. 142-193yards. The par 4’s are well designed. The par 5’s are risk/reward with a couple reachable with a solid driver, and then 3 wood. Tee boxes are flat, fairways are in good shape, and even tho the greens are marked up with ball marks, they roll at a good consistent speed. Yeah, sometimes we wait for slow players but as long as we finish, it doesn’t bother us at all. It’s a little pricey. We pay $64 with a cart on the weekend. In all, I’m making a ton of good memories here with my golf buddies. My happy place.
Money money money money
I wish the city would put up some money to make it better.
Like why not it the only course around in a big city like San Jose have a little pride. Instead talking out the side of your necks.
Pro shop staff
First impression of golf course is very important and when you walk in you want to feel that you are welcomed. What’s wrong with the guy at the pro desk? He sounds very rude for sure.
Good time & More Bang for my Buck
Went with my wife and dad and had head a great time. The pace of play was pretty slow due to some rookies infront of us still learning the game. Overall nice day, soft greens, and good course layout.
Staff benefits.....
Decent course, except that a couple of the long time staffers like to give their friends extended benefits.......such as playing 5 or 6somes regularly, and even 7-8somes. The men's club members seem to think that they own the course, and can do whatever they want.....because a few staff members let them. It's a public course ding dongs......
Lame. If this continues, I will let the owners know....the city of San Jose. So, knock it off.......
