Walkable fun course
Very walkable course with interesting layout. My only complaint is the bunkers have very little sand making inconsistent play out of the bunkers. I do recommend the course. In addition to the course there is a second par 3 course, an awesome driving range and huge putting green and chipping area.
Great course but very slow on weekends.
The course is great for a muni but on weekends it is extremely slow. We finished in about 5.5 hours.
Second time playing Santa Teresa. Excellent opportunities to work on virtually every club. Greens challenge you to make good reads.
Roll the greens
I wish they would role the greens. But the place was in good condition overall.
The cost with a cart must be pretty expensive, I all ways walk .
The worst golf experience I have ever had.
This was the worst golf experience I have ever had. Being a golfer that plays 2-3 times a week. We booked a tee time for 7:30. My group woke up at 5:30 am drove an hour to get to the course. When we arrived we were told there was a frost delay and because of this the cancelled our tee time, (rather than pushing all the tee times back, like every course in human history does.) absolutely no customer service. When I spoke with Kevin, the pro shop manager, I was met with an attitude of “tough luck, it’s our policy, get over it”. It’s hard to believe a business in 2020 would take this kind of an attitude towards their patrons. I will not be back, please take note for any tee time you book in the morning.
Concrete Fairways
I've played Santa Teresa many times and enjoy this course, overall. The front nine plays more like a parkland course while the back nine has a mountain-esque feel to it with lots of fun elevation changes. That being said, the fairways are in TERRIBLE shape. I don't mind being penalized if I hit a shot off the fairway but if I put one down the middle, the second shot shouldn't feel like it's being hit off of a cart path. The fairways are incredibly hard and difficult to hit off of. I hit more shots thin today than I have in the last six months combined. If you're going to keep your course in this condition it's robbery to charge $50+ for a round. Until further notice, I'll be avoiding this course, unfortunately.
long wait and slow pace
I arrived early to warm up. That was way too early. As it turned out, with a 12:45 tee time, we didn't get out till close to 1:30. And then the pace of play was horrendous. Waited at every hole. And was only able to complete just over half the course! They know this and they should space out the tee times, particularly on a Saturday when many slow players are out and they are booked solid.
Played again here
It was nice to play here again after many years. They were very good about sanitizing the carts, and the course had not changed from what I remembered. Greens were decent.
Way over priced
Luckily I booked a twilight time to save a little bit of $. The price for carts is the most outrageous thing I've ever seen. $18 per player. Its not like they have GPS on them and they are always dieing on people. We couldn't even finish our round because most people walked , im guessing due to the cost of a cart. 4 hours should have been plenty of time to finish. Also the tee times are way too close together. The course was really congested. Maybe give a group at least 15 minutes before letting the next group out. 5 minutes isn't enough time. I most likely won't go back until something is done about all of the problems. I understand they need to make money but we are trying to have a good time out there without feeling rushed and would like to play the full 18 since that is what we paid for.
Good course
First time here. Really good course and really wide fairways. Definitely enjoyed it. If you’re a walker, there are a couple steep holes, but overall a fun experience. Please note, it’s a public course and some greens are pretty beat up. Overall, definitely a good time.
POOR STAFF MEMBER
I have been coming to Santa Teresa Golf Club with family members since 1969. This summer my family and I started to really get in to golf again, and we’ve been out at Santa Teresa very frequently, multiple times a week. However, the experience has been deteriorating due to customer service. There is one particular female staff member with black hair that works in the pro shop that has been consistently rude every time we have interacted with her. She does not treat customers with respect and talks down to them at every possible chance at the pro shop. She also has given my son and his friends a hard time when buying beers from the snack bar even though they are all above 21 years of age with valid IDs. I have confirmed her rude behavior with two other friends of mine that also golf at Santa Teresa. For example, today we asked about filling a no show tee time for the short course since we were on the range; there were three holes open on the short course with no one teeing off. As I went to ask the pro shop, she cut me off from entering even though I had my mask on. She then proceeded to not give an ounce of respect to me throughout the entire conversation, and would not even let me enter the pro shop to ask about tee times. I understand the COVID restrictions and respect them very much, but there was a better way for her to interact with a customer (that wants to give business to you) rather than being totally rude. This example is a good representation of how she interacts with us every time we are out there. Finally, on our way out after some more snide remarks she then told us to not come back anymore! This is only ONE of the bad interactions we’ve had with her! The good days for us this summer have been when we have not had to see her out there. Somehow she has lost the concept of treating the customer right, and in the process she has completely removed our interest in wanting to come to this course again. After 51 years and three family generations of playing golf at Santa Teresa, enough is enough...WE ARE DONE!
a good public course
very covid strick. no tees on their driving range and no clips for score card on the cart,
the employees are friendly, the course is in good condition
I look forward to playing the course again
