You get what u pay for
It's inexpensive to play here but the course condition is not great. The fairways are still Grey with little grass, and the course doesn't drain very well so there are a lot of wet spots even though it hadn't rained in a few days
Wish they had some maintenance over the winter. Goose poop every square foot on the course.
Pleasantly surprised
Played the White course 9 holes. Executive course with challenging par 3’s and short 4’s. Greens were slicker then what I’m use to in Florida which made it fun (especially on a windy day). Fairways were way better than expected…. Tee boxes weren’t bad either. Now for the important stuff. The cheeseburger took me back to the city course I grew up playing and the hotdog was the 3rd best I’ve ever had on a golf course. Merch selection inside the pro shop was great. I’ll be back to play the other courses on property next time we’re in town.
Bang for your buck
I’ve played the White Course at East Potomac a few times this summer and now into fall, and it’s a great value for the $22 price. Close by in northern VA your best 9-hole bet is probably Jefferson District, but it’s harder to get a tee time there. I also love that East Potomac has a great driving range with the Tracman software. Basically get the TopGolf experience if you want for way cheaper.
As for the White Course itself, a mixture of decently challenging par-3 and par-4 holes. They do a good job of moving the tees and lions frequent enough that I don’t feel like I’m always playing the same exact course. Also for what it’s worth the greens roll pretty fair even with many folks leaving ball marks in (please fix them when you can everyone!). Made a nice 20-footer to save bogey on the challenging par-4 on 6.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a quick, decent, and fun course. They also offer push carts for $5, can’t go wrong there. And the amenities are nice, they have water stations and a portajon as well as a solid food/grill and drink area in their pro shop area. I’ve also played the Red course which I love and will be trying the Blue soon.
Local, slightly cheaper spot
While being located in DC East Potomac still the the best value for the money. The overall prices have gone up, BUT that does now come with Toptracer at the driving range. The overall grounds is respectable, and consistently maintained. There’s beer, sandwiches, view of the Potomac on one side, and The Wharf, past the channel. Just don’t ask for too much, and anyone can have a good time here.
Worst game
I never play a 9 hole in 2h45 … terrible and the course never worth the price …
First and Last time playing @White course
Only the DC view was fair for this course. It is a straight short 9 hole course. On the last hole, there were too many goose poopoos that we couldn't putt. But worth coming 1 time.
Cheap, accessible, not nice: good for beginners
It's affordable, although you almost always end up sharing a tee time. The grounds are rough most of the time, particularly anytime after rain. Nice and helpful staff, easy parking. Driving range is easily the top feature of the course with lots of bays, free drive tracking technology and TopGolf style games, and scenic views.
A good place to play for beginners/amateurs on a budget.
Terrible Conditions and Maintenance
Clumps of cut grass everywhere in the fairways, huge potholes to avoid on all cart paths, mosquito invested pools of standing water, and marshland throughout the course due to terrible drainage. It rained two days prior but it looked like it rained a few hours before. Overall course upkeep and maintenance was horrendous.
Fun short 4’s
This is a great little course. I had only played the red course at East po, this was a nice switch up! Great short par 4’s.
The greens were tricky fast
