About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
Cypress Creek Country Club in Boynton Beach offers classic Florida golf. The course is mostly open and it features wide, player-friendly fairways. The layout is notable for being Robert Von Hagge's first design. It is a traditional layout that casual players will enjoy but it has challenges in store for the low handicapper as well. The par 3s are quite lengthy and there are water hazards coming into play on a few holes. There are also a number of strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. Five sets of tees make the course approachable for all skill levels. It is an excellent layout for tournaments or outings. In addition to the golf course, Cypress Creek also offers a driving range where golfers can get in some practice before starting the round.

Very Poor Shape
It had been awhile since I had played this course. The course is in a horrible state of repair. The fairways are burned out and bare. The greens are torn up. The staff did say that the course has brought in a new management company to oversee the rehab of the course. For me , I will not be going back for another long while.
Greens, bunks and fairways need repairs
Course is in poor condition greens need a lot of work, it's over priced not worth more than $20 dollars anytime. Fairways bad, no rakes on carts or in sand traps course not well maintained.
Don't waste your money!!!!
This is possibly the worst course I have played in a while. I guess the layout is oK but the greens were like shag carpet that a truck had run through. Calling this place a cow patch would be unfair to the cows. I stopped putting after about 4 holes. Don't play here for any reason.
This course is a dog track.
Billy Casper Golf had better work miracles with this course or it's destine to be a cemetery.
hard times
What used to be a nice and playable course has fallen to disrepair and neglect. The greens were unplayable, possibly the worst I've ever seen. Basic things like no one at the bag drop, no one attending our finish, ball washes in poor or nonworking condition.
All staff people we met were doing a good job, but the overall management of the course is not getting it done.
Very bad greens
no putting can be done, the grass is too long !
they try to rebuilt their green.
Green or bunkers?
Tee boxes were nice, fairways were nice howver 75% of the greens were not smooth, missing grass, craters, etc.
Play at Cypress Creek
Only one drawback. Greens were in terrible
condition. And for that reason, I would not play there again or recommend the course,
until greens come around.
Course has a nice layout. All parts are
well keeper except for the greens.
greens are in terrible shape
if I had not gotten a golf now super deal I would have asked for a refund after the 2nd hole the course was in that bad a shape.
Horrible conditions
Greens were just reseeded. Almost unplayably slow. Should have been warned when the reservation was made, not by the starter. Even though the price was low they should have thrown in a drink or a hot dog or a sleeve of balls. Something!
Fairways were a liitle better but not by a lot. The course needs a major re-seeding.
Decent layout if they would only upgrade the conditions.
Groups & Members?
My friend and I have played this course too many times to count (including annually on my birthday) and we will never go back again.
Let me be clear, I don't write negative reviews ever. About anything.
We were paired with an older couple on vacation from Finland who were gracious and very nice. On the 10th hole, after our 4some stopped for a beer and hotdog at the turn, we noticed a group had teed off ahead of us. No big deal. On the 11th tee, the group playing behind VERY rudely started to yell at our Finnish friends that we were cutting between their groups and couldn't just play wherever we wanted!
I've been playing area courses for many years and quickly jumped in that we were cut at the turn and had done nothing wrong. He then lost his temper and said he was a member and that this was their course and there were 7 such groups every Saturday. This is not a PRIVATE course. It's a public one.
We were moved by the starter ahead to the 15th and told to play 11-14 after we finished 18 to avoid these "groups". Which we did.
Upon returning to the 11th, we were literally accosted again by a group from the 10th green and told they were in a group.
I will never play here again and I will inform you all that the course is nothing special. The greens were HORRIBLY under repair. The whole course played as hard as concrete.
Don't waste your money when Boynton Links is just around the corner and is an amazing place to play.
bad greens
Bad greens, looked like patchwork, slow and a lot of damagespots. Many 4-balls playing slow....
Verts terribles
Le parcours est intéressant mais ca manque d entretien.
Jamais vu de si mauvais verts de ma vie!,,
Je joues au Golf depuis 50 ans.
Improving course conditions.
Let's be honest- How can you go wrong for $15 weekdays and $20 on a weekend? The course has new maintenance management and it's showing. The rough has been cleaned up and is starting to be groomed, the fairways are vastly improved, and the greens are really starting to play true. The course isn't a private members only but is a nice neighborhood links that is friendly and close.
To much rain
The course is practically destroyed by the amount of rain lately. The greens are all washed out and nasty. The fairways are barren with weeds. The rough is overgrown, soggy and sloppy, to easy to lose a ball you see land.
take care of it !
I've played this course several times and it's allways been just ok. The last 2 times I've played the greens were horrible. Brown and patchy at best .
This last time I played there wae so much water on the course , they should have closed .
This is a great track , they just need to take care of it. Won't be back anytime soon .
Horriable
Course lacked maintence. Greens had crab grass growing in some area's. seventeen out of the 18 greens had problems. Fairways lacked grass in some area's . Hitting off dirt. Tee boxes also need repair. Course is not worth playing with so many maintained course in the area.
The greens are in deep trouble
It's been rough with all the rain yet the golf course is really struggling, especially the greens. Nice layout. Hopefully they get the greens back in a few months.
When I wrote this review- The course had been in really bad shape-if that's to be believed. Tee boxes /fairways were weeds. Rough was so overgrown and deep you would lose a ball if 4 people saw it land and searched. The new Billy Casper Mgmt. came in and really started putting time and effort into reshaping the course. It did show HOWEVER it was late in the season and the greens never returned- they patched in pieces of sod but too little too late. I still believe it's a very nice layout- challenging but not penal. I'm hoping that this course will return. They have started, I still like it. Just my opinion.
