Very good for the $$
Been coming to this course for the last three years when on vacation and the course is in great shape. Enjoy playing there
Favorite course
We golf this course a couple times a week and really enjoy the layout and staffing. A few ball washers would sure help though.
Small greens
Friendly welcome at Pelican Bay. Very hot day on the course but enjoyed the layout. Lots of water along fairways but not too close - mainly used to separate course from houses. Course overall in good condition but greens could be better though lack of rain likely the reason. Great finishing hole with testing tee shot and tight approach due to well positioned trees. Would recommend a visit if in the area as good value
course is coming, but somethg are needed
best time to play is Tuesday morning or late day, and place is quick to get to; right off I95 and end of I4.
need alittle TLC, but somethg are needed (check pic attached to reveiw) more sand
On the 11 hole if your on the white tee box, big tree bents it way just off your line to a par 3
Thy should take the treee down, cause it will come down on someone like me.
PS all you Gof COurse Realtors their is a south course for sale, someone please buy it.
Pelican Bay getting better
The course conditions have greatly improved over the last two months. Fairwaays are greening up and greens are consistent
WORRIED....TO NO AVAIL
We were a little worried about playing this course as we had been told that it was not in great condition. When we arrived and went to the putting green, it got worse. The putting green was in poor shape and we were worried that the greens on the course were like that...but....SURPRISE. The course was in great shape, as were the greens, especially for this time of the year. It is a challenging course, with a lot of water. But very enjoyable to play. We will definitely be back.
Best condition in years.
Couse looks great. Some greens are still a work in progress, but still a good value. Will definitely play again.
Pelican Bay is a decent course for the money. Their greens need some work. The sand traps were like hitting off of hard ground. If they took more pride in their course it could be a nice place to play.
Stupid Booking system
If you call to book a round its $60.
If you use Golf Now its $45 plus fees.
If you want to change or cancel, forget it. The pro shop wont change a booking if you book through Golf Now. If you want to waste 30 minutes of your life try calling Golf Now and when you finally get to talk to a real person they told me "oh yes we've got problems with our automated system (Postal Code).
otherwise the course is ok, only ok.
Stupid Rates
$60 if you ring them up for a tee time.
$45 if you book through Golf Now.
What a stupid idea (although profitable for Golf Now and I don't recall any mention of Golf Now in this process so you start of thinking its free - its not)
Then if you want to change your booking you call the course - NO - if you booked through Golf Now you have to contact them Good Luck, I hope you have lots of time because it took me over 30 minutes to change my booking. When I finally reach a real person he tells me "oh yes, our automated system has a glitch in it".
Apart from that, the course is okay, used to be great years ago but no money spent on it.
Too much water
Every hole has water on both sides. Husband last 7+ balls on this course.
Nice round
These courses continue to obviously struggle as no water, ball washers and the restroom roof almost gone and covered with a blue tarp partially. It was still worth the money as course was nice
Oldie but Goodie Country Club
Sure the clubhouse and past membership have seen their better days, but that doesn't detract from a great layout and passable greens. Plus pace of play is excellent...no overbooking here! Good prices make this excellent value for the money.
It’s Not Pristene, But It’s Not Bad
Having read some mixed reviews about Pelican Bay, I decided to find out for myself. The price was fifty bucks because I didn’t manage to get a Hot Deal. So, it wasn’t exactly a bargain, but it wasn’t terrible. The course was actually in okay shape, except for some patchy greens that were also pretty slow. Still, my buddy and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as did the lovely French Canadian lady who joined us.
It was good enough that I booked another game. I recommend that you give Pelican Bay a try—especially if you can score a Hot Deal.
