Palm Valley Golf Club
About
Since opening in 1989, Palm Valley Golf Club has become a favorite among locals for the extremely affordable rates and enjoyable round. Surrounded by acres of horse farms in the heart of Nocatee, the golf course offers an idyllic and relaxing game. The nine-hole layout consists of two par 4s and seven par 3s. The golf course is ideal for beginners or for golfers looking for a casual round, but don't be mistaken: It is not a simple pitch-and-putt. Palm Valley Golf Club features well manicured target greens bordered by sand bunkers and water comes into play throughout. In addition to the golf course, Palm Valley also offers a 10,000-square-foot putting green, the largest in the area.

Fun course
If you understand what this course is, you will really enjoy yourself. If you are looking for a country club experience, this is not it. It's the equivalent of a Mom and Pop store -- charming, accessible, very affordable. A great place for newly golfers and learners, a fun place for a quick 9 or 18 holes. It is short, it is easy, It is fun. The people are fantastic and the pace of the place is comfortable. we had a great time.
Friendliest staff
Everyone is nice and they do everything they can to be as accommodating as possible. It’s a small 9 hole course, but it’s definitely a lot of fun. Great way to spend a Saturday morning.
Range Rules Substandard
Not allowed to pick up range balls and pitch again.
Staff comes out to warn you forcefully!
Most holes heel deep in water and mud. Greens so muddy, fried eggs on impact.
No smooth greens on entire course!
Overcharged me! No receipt given! (Wife non-golfer charged as player. Granted a “rain check” for more miserable golf!
Unsatifactory
Worst course conditions Ive experienced in Jacksonville. Every tee box was either beat up grass and sand or you had to hit off a cement mat. If you do actually hit there greens good luck, the greens are horrible and not worth even putting. Theres crab grass and thatch as well as bare spots. I dont think they even bother to roll them at all. This information should given when you pay. I felt duped. I will never go here again.
Review
Best fairway conditions we have seen in the last 3 weeks . Very friendly people quick pace
A real gem ..
Fun
Good course to practice of play around with your wife
Great practice for short game
Overall the course is in fair to good condition. The greens are a little rough and the tee boxes could use some maintenance. It’s a great course to practice your short game, but little forgiveness without being in someone’s way. Their rates are similar to Jax Beach but substantially different course conditions.
Good Course for Beginners
The pace of play was too slow for us. After taking 35 mins for first two holes, we just “went through the motion” to finish up the round.
Hidden gem
Not only did I play for the first time on this course, I had returned several times afterwards to play the course again and again. Family owned and operated, this course offers a family friendly atmosphere where anyone can take their family to and enjoy the day. Whether a novice or experienced, and with unbeatable prices to boot, anyone and everyone can enjoy this course! Looking forward to going back on my next return trip to the area.
Fun for the money
It’s a small 9 hole course, and it’s not really high quality, but it’s cheap, fun, not crowded, and a great way to work on your iron game.
I can’t wait to go back and walk another 9 or 18 holes with my buddies.
Palm Valley is a great course is you’re looking for a quick 9 or play the same 9 twice. As an advanced golfer it’s a perfect place to work on your wedge / iron precision and/or if you’re a beginner/junior golfer. I played 9 in roughly an hour and enjoyed the round. The course staff is extremely friendly and let me know they’re committed to improving sections of the course and currently working on improving two of their greens. They also have a great driving range with green grass and mats depending on the golfer preference. If you’re looking for a place to escape and get back home within a reasonable amount of time I highly recommend PVGC.
Best Time On a Course
Being a girl playing golf can be somewhat intimidating, especially when you have men waiting earnestly for you to hit the ball. I love this course because it is laid back, beautiful, and friendly. I know I can hit a couple of balls under their gorgeous oak tree or play 9 holes with no one trying to hurry me along. But honestly, I love that I can pack a little lunch and just enjoy the outdoors. They have really improved on their greens and the staff is just the friendliest. When I come to to town this is were I come to relax and unwind.
Hidden Gem
I stumbled upon this course while checking out Nocatee. This is a leave your attitude and collared shirt behind place. While this isn't Sawgrass, it makes up with quaintness. The nicest public range and range balls in the northeast Florida. Course is only walking, but less than 1.5 hour and I got 9 holes in. Greens are easy pace(sorry Tiger). The staff made me feel like I was a regular, my first time in. For what it is, it's a solid 5. I'll definitely make this a weekly 9 after work.
Nice Executive Course
nice layout between 2 horse farms. Leisurely 9 hole walk at a good price. Friendly people, very enjoyable way to spend an hour or two.
Good course, friendly staff, nice serene.
This course was in GREAT shape, something for every level of golfer, what a bargain!
A Jacksonville area course you're allowed to walk for a change
Ever since moving to the Jacksonville area I have found it hard pressed to locate a course that you could walk as a standard. Palm Valley fills the bill there.
Granted, this is an executive course but don't be fooled. There is a lot of water that comes into play and some of the holes are a bit tight width-wise.
The greens are recovering from a very wet June so they are spotty. No different than some of the 18-hole courses in the area. That comes with the territory. Pace of play for a single is right around an hour if the course isn't busy. It is a great place for beginners so be prepared.
Solid Executive course, first time playng the course
As with most PAR 3/Executive courses, Palm Valley works for those whose games are not at the level to fully enjoy a full length regulation golf course. Fairways and tee boxes are in great condition whereas the greens require attention but this venue worked great for taking out two folks who had never played golf at any level other than at the driving range and putt putt golf. Was an enjoyable experience for all.
What golf course let's you do that!? That's not safe nor is it proper etiquette.
