Best last minute deal on Maui
Bad weather so last minute golf. Little rain and moved well - less slow group in front. Would play for full price. Great course and staff. Every hole different. The more you play, the better you will understand how to play the course. Fairly hard the first time.
Enjoyed a great round of golf
Beautiful views from every tee and green. Fairways were uniform and green. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Will play again.
Unfortunately it rained heavy the day before and we were restricted to cart path only, and we really don't play cart path golf. Greens were inconsistent as a result. Upon arrival it seemed we were bothering the pro shop guy, but the girl who welcomed us at the cart was very pleasant. And the restaurant was closed when we finished and we were so looking forward to beer & nachos. But it was a nice day, great views, and we're golfing in Maui.
6000 plus ,windy,challenging,fair good choice
Staff pleasant helpful. Especially accomodating since we were 15 minutes late to finish, but $5 helped the golf course was quite fun to play- just a little slow!
Kahili Golf
Good course for a fair price by Maui standards. Challenging holes and very scenic. Pace of play has always been good every time I have been there.
Enjoyable golf course
Kahili is a fun course to play. The fees are reasonable, especially after noon and the course has a interesting variety of short and long holes. There are some beautiful views of the Pacific from many of the holes. There is a fair amount of wind but not so much that it made the round unenjoyable. The tees and fairways are in adequate condition but the greens are very good. The food in the restaurant is quite good.
Great play experience
The course, though shorter than normal, proved to be very challenging because of the wind. All holes were challenging with incredible views. Putting is very tricky and not at all what you would expect. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. Would definitely play it again.
Nice course
Beautiful views from on the hills. Great looking course. Played several times and will play again. Aloha Friday has good rates.
Great course - slow play
I played Kahili twice this week. The first time on a Sunday after a few holes the marshal approached us and apologized for the slow pace of play. In fact we were playing quite fast and had no complaints. The marshal told us he had identified the group causing the problem and had asked them to catch the group in front of them. We completed the round in just over 3.5 hours. The second round on a Thursday there was no marshal to be seen and it was very slow. After nine the GPS warned us of slow play and suggested we try to catch the group ahead of us. At that moment they were about 100 yards away and waiting for the group ahead of them to get on the green. We took almost 4.5 hours for that round. Where was the marshal when he was needed.
The course is very interesting, all the holes are different, and it is well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The wind makes it more difficult than the scorecard would make it appear.
Reading the greens is a real challenge.
This is fun course to play and I would go back any time and hope that the effective marshal is working that day.
This course has tree lined and sloped fairways.
Great Course for any level of player.
We had good weather sunny and no wind.
Looking forward to playing again.
Great day
Course played quite difficult as it was very windy from the opposite direction of the trades. Still great fun, greens in great shape, staff very pleasant. GPS was annoying with it's pop up messages all day. Overall, looking forward to going back to play again.
Play Here
Nice course. Well maintained.Greens are in great shape and are quite fast. Some holes offer nice views. We played this course twice and enjoyed it both times, even though one of those times it did rain. My only advice would be to keep an eye on Golfnow as we picked it up there for 60 bucks a round.
A good day on Maui
Fortunate to play the course on a day without any wind. Easy to see that it would play much differently with a 5-15 mph wind. Greens had some personality and challenging reads. Would play it again, especially if I could find a discount green fee.
Nice course, good value!
My wife and I played Kahili and found it to be one of the most picturesque golf courses on the island! The fairways were challenging the greens tricky and hard to read. We played the twilight rate and when we made the turn at hole 9, the snack shack was already closed up and you couldn't take beverages out of the inside bar! Better bring your own water!
Slow course with poor amenities
Pace of play was excruciatingly slow. We were sent off over 15 minutes late and the pace was 20 minutes behind on top of that all afternoon. A 1:42 tee time did not finish until 6:20. On top of that, the only place to buy a bottle of water closed by the time we got to the turn, leaving the only option for water to drink from the faucet in the bathrooms.
We will not be back.
Good value course
Overall, this course was a good value. It's in a nice area up on the mountainside with views of Kahului and the water. It was in very pretty good shape, and was a playable course for a high handicapper like me. We had an early afternoon tee time, and there was a bit of a backup getting off the first tee and it was pretty slow throughout the day. I was also slightly disappointed that the snack bar closed at 4pm (which we weren't told about) and we didn't have the opportunity to grab any drinks for the back nine. The golf staff was very helpful though, getting us some towels to use for the showers as the course was closing. I'd recommend it and it's worth the drive, wherever you are staying on Maui.
Good golf course, excellent value for Maui
A friend and I grabbed a 1:45 tee time at Kahili GC. Very good value for the money; $79 before 2pm ($59 after 2pm). Wanted to try and get the full 18 in before dark and glad we did because we wouldn't have finished otherwise.
The course is rated 4 stars on Golf Advisor and I think it lives up to that (especially given that most courses on the island are $150-250). Tees and greens were about 3.5/5 and the fairways were 4.25/5.
The course is in the same general vicinity as King Kamehameha (on the side of a mountain), so be ready for elevation changes and windy conditions.
Pro shop and cart staff were great. Food and beverage, not as much.
One of my favourite courses on Maui
Excellent course. Quite difficult with all the undulating fairways and greens. Well maintained. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed our day.
Excellent Vacation Golf Destination
Challenging greens! Couse in excellent shape. Our group decided to return for three rounds during our short stay in Maui.
Good Company
Course in good shape, pace of play slow. In all the three people I played with were in agreement that there needs to be someone on the course to keep play moving at a steady pace.
