Rough
This course used to be nice. I’m not sure what is going on, but the greens were filled with weeds, the fairway was cut real low, and the rest of the grass hadn’t been cut in at least a week so if you hit a ball in the rough it was good chance unless you saw it land it was a lost cause. Hopefully they’ll get it turned around.
Horrible
Horrible condition
A lot of crabgrass on every green
Not worth a penny to play this course
Outrageous
Terrible conditions
This was the worst condition I have ever played on. It was terrible. The greens were burned up with crab grass, the rough was ridiculous. No water for drinking on a hot day.
Absolutely horrendous
By far the worst condition of greens I've ever played on
The fairways were in fair shape, some were pretty tight, but the greens were terrible. We were using hybrids to put with to just get to the hole. They were mostly crabgrass. I will never go back
Don't even think about it
Cannot express enough how bad this course is. Weeds growing on the greens so there is no way to putt a ball. Chunks missing from greens. 6 inch high ant hills on many greens. Flags on many holes just laid in the cup or will not come out of holes because they are poked through the cup. Holes themselves are caved in on many holes. Never seen anything like it.
Improving every week
The course fairways, tees, rough are very good right now. The greens are not great but are getting better. They are working hard getting it in shape to A for effort.
will be getting in better shape
first time I played it in several years the greens was slow and had bad spots in them the staff was great and told me they was getting ready to put in Bermuda greens in a couple of weeks when they get them done it should be back in great shape the rest of the course was in good shape the day I played they was mowing it then the only bad things is they need to mark how to get to some of the other holes that goes through the neighborhood still I love the lay out of the course
Woodlawn
You really get what you pay for I was very dissatisfied with the upkeep of the corse, the greens you couldn't read at all due to the dried out spots and cracks and missing grass everywhere. I would love to see them work on that.
This course should be closed
I drove an hour to play yesterday at Woodlawn with a friend and we had two others driving an hour and 30 minutes to meet us. We were charged $39 by a friendly young man in the pro shop. After he charged us, he said, "I'll bring you carts right up". That was the first indication that something was wrong on this course...the guy that rings you up also delivers the cart tells me they don't want to pay another employee. He also let us know that you are allowed to play as much as you want for the $39 fee.
I walked out of the proshop and took a look out on to the course. I quickly noticed how long the rough was. It had rained several days prior to our outing, but this grass hadn't been mowed in over a week or two.
We started on the back nine and the grass we walked through to the tee box was 8-10 inches thick. We teed off and drove to our balls. The fairway was covered with dandelions. I hit my second shot (amazingly) on to the green.
We made our way to the green and noticed the length of the grass: it looked like the fairway should look. Putting was not possible due to the length of the grass. We went to the next hole just to see if it was in the same shape...of course it was.
Our group returned to the clubhouse and asked if we could either get a refund or a credit at the sister course, Maywood. We took the credit and headed over there to play and it was fine.
If your course looks this poorly, and is as unplayable as it was, why do you even allow people on to play? We were later informed at Maywood the greens had not been mowed since August.
Course re-opened too soon
Course was not ready to re-open. There were significant bare patches on the greens. The greens had not been shaved. The ball literally bounced and could not maintain a tract to the hole. This course needs more time for the grass to fill in all the bare spots in the fairways and on the greens.
Disappointed
This was the 4th time I have played this course. It has really gone downhill. The greens were burnt up. The traps were just mud. The grass hadn't been cut. They have really let this place go downhill. We won't be back.
Horrendous
My buddy is a member at this course and I feel sorry for him. There is no way, especially with 2 other course in Bardstown, that this place should be open. Honestly, Chris Osborne should be ashamed to have his name attached to this terrible piece of land.
The best green at Woodlawn is the one where you can try out putters in the pro shop, they're so bad. Heaven forbid you hit the ball slightly left or right, just drop a new ball in the fairway and hit from there.
Definitely won't be back to this course, nor do I expect it to be open very much longer.
Challenges on every hole.
The course is not really long in distance, but the clover filled rough and in front of teeing areas make for an added challenge. The holes also are quite sloped and the greens very closely cut. Water hazards come into play on several holes for sure.
Disgraced
This course should be closed down. Weeds have taken over the fairway. Greens are in terrible shape. The bunkers are dirt. I can see this course closing soon. Not even worth the best hot deal out there. Don't waste your time or money. My old Kentucky home is where you should go.
Terrible
I have been playing this course at least once a year for many years. I always hope conditions will improve, but they never improve. They have improved the layout on a couple holes, but the greens and fairways are simply horrible. this will probably be my last round here.
Superb staff
The man at work this day was very helpful and courteous.
Glenn
fun course to play
very friendly staff, tee boxes & fairways very good, a few greens had brown spots. bunkers definitely need work.
Terrible
I have played here many times over the years. I keep waiting to see improvement since it changed hands a few years back, but it has actually gotten worse. Fairways from shaggy to bare, greens not good. anyone giving this course a good rating is doing a disservice to other golfers.
Won't play again
Fairways and greens where in terrible shape.
