I didn't know this place existed

Alongside the interstate, next to the Airport is the Bangor municipal 36 hole golf course, with a clubhouse overlooking the golf course.. I got there and the place was so popular that they were parked everywhere; keep in mind they have 36 holes to spread these people out- along with a very real driving range and two putting greens. It turns out they have senior rates and military discount.
The place is on top of a large hill. The odds are high that you will often be hitting up or down a hill. They have quite a few dog legs where you can't see the green until your second shot. The place was in great shape. I will play again. The greens are a little slow. The rough is about 2-3-inches high ( just about right for rough ) . The bunkers actually have sand-BUT- they could use some attention- it's a great place-give it a try.

Best course in the area

great course. The staff keeps everything in great shape. The course is pretty open so if you miss it won't cause you too much trouble. The big greens make you feel like a hero for all the GIR but 3 putting from 50 feet is a real possibility. I recommend this course to anyone who is going to be in the greater Bangor area.
