Worst course
Overall it almost feels like this course is taking your money . The course is so poorly maintained the fairways are like hitting out of the deepest rough and there is probably about 4 greens between course 1 and 2 that you can actually putt on it just seems like there is no effort put fourth even trying to make this a playable course .
Greens are like putting on the rough
This course should cost no more than $10 during any peak times. Absolutely horrendous conditions
Not worth it
Absolute worst greens I have seen. Tee boxes not much better
Great course
I played course #1 and it's absolutely beautiful, fairways are in good condition bit the greens need a lot of love. Overall really good course for what you pay
Yikes, no maintenance
Inexpensive golf at a municipal course is always a good day but you really can’t play a round of golf here. Greens are the worse I’ve ever seen. I don’t think they maintain this course at all. Fairways look like my back yard and I have two dogs. Tee boxes have almost no grass. I grew up in the area and remember this course being a decent course. I wish I could give a respectable review but without playing a hole without a place you can put I can’t go back. If it dosent improve it may as well turn into a nice subdivision near route 128.
Stay Away
Course new to GolfNow which was great - easy to book a tee time and offered an online rate which seemed reasonable ($42 with cart). GolfNow offered mobile check-in...beautiful. I clicked and checked in and paid. Arrived at course and attempted to get a key to the cart and was questioned about not paying. Actually showed the confirmation from golfnow...not good enough apparently. Pulled up my actual bank online and showed the payment (shows as pending as I use my debit card linked to golfnow) - was questioned again. Finally he had us go (after saying what time is your tee time and it was now 5 minutes away as he had kept us there questioning us and then had the gall to say "well you better get going". Uh, we tried.
No food or beverages available at all on the course.
Now the course. HORRID greens. I usually say that I am not good enough to get too picky about conditions BUT...should greens have tufts of grass growing all around them? Should they have mounds on sand on them? Fluffy grass on them? Worst greens I have ever seen. Women's tees are in the middle of the fairway and barely visible. Course is not well marked. Will never be back. Save yourself the headache and pay a few dollars more and head to Norwood Country Club 10 minutes down the road. Or pay a bit more and hit Brookmeadow in Canton. If this had the option of 0 starts that is what I would give it.
You get what you pay for
Really poor course conditions but made for a fun day. No discernible difference between fairway and rough. Many short holes that leave opportunities for low scores. Long grass is everywhere and makes it difficult to hit out of. Only major issue is the greens, which light as well be renamed to browns or tans. Overall not a bad place for the money and probably great for first timers too. Will come back
greens are a joke
worst greens i’ve ever played in my life - all cut to fringe length its a joke. don’t waste your time. better off chipping on the greens instead of putting.
Bad greens, good course/value
I knew the greens were in rough shape going in. So I wasn't disappointed. The sand traps are kind of hard and have no rakes..
BUT, The course layout is interesting and well done. I wouldn't walk it as sometimes there is pretty good distance in between holes, But I thought the layout was good.. Everything is green, the fairways are terrific.
The greens are an absolute disaster. Not just brown and patchy, but even where they're green. You can see the ball bouncing along as if it's over 30 miniature speeds bumps.
I thought it was a great value and I would absolutely play there again. Just don't plan on being to concerned with putting.
It was also a fairly quick round and I had heard it could be slow but that wasn't my experience
Worst greens I've ever seen
First time on this course. Will not be back. It's very cheap so I'm sure it's fine if you just wanna hack around. At one point I was thinking about using my pitching wedge on the green. Massive sandy areas on greens. Weeds growing out of them. Bunkers are full of grass and weeds. All around just not worth the time.
Embarrassment
I will never play here again. Horrendous conditions. They should close this course. The greens were literally unplayable and sand traps not maintained in years. See pics.
Shocking
What a sad state the golf course is in. Unacceptable. It is the worst conditioned course over ever seen and for what would be one of the best layouts in all of New England ( Ponky #1) it is criminal. Really the people who are running and making decisions for the DCA should not have the job they have.
Having played there over 25 years and the course having its ups and downs, this is an absolute new low. Greens are longer than a reg courses fairways but then also dead dirt spots everywhere. Shameful!
Greens to forget
Greens ruined the day. Fairways not bad (although grass clippings were not cleared and hid a few balls that were in the middle of the fairway). Green terrible and ruined day.
The layout of the course is great, and this place could be a jewel for the state, but as is avoid at all costs.
