First time
Challenging course but a lot of fun. Difficult greens
Perfection
My wife and I are from Florida and have played a half dozen different golf courses in the New England area over the past month. None have been better that South Shore Country Club. The course conditions were stellar with all the amenities intact. The course on paper from the back tees gave you all the fight you needed but was extremely fair at the same time. Every person we came in contact with was genuinely nice and had a smile. That feeling of welcoming which is important for a first time golfer to the course. The hills and dales were what really made this course stand out. The only thing that we wish is that this soon to be 100 year old golf course was in our back yard. Thank you retired PGA golf professional.
A legit challenge
At first glance, it felt like Franklin Park but quickly started to resemble something altogether different. The hills for 14 of 18 holes were menacing and being that it was the first time playing, local knowledge would be a premium for success. Wind was a factor all day but the course is enjoyable. Greens were challenging and quick but rolled true. Loved the finishing four holes and want to go back now knowing the design.
Waste of Money
If you like slow play, water logged fairways, and a lot of mosquitoes then this is the place for you.
I would recommending going else where.
Place sucks
Very unimpressive course, hilly, unkept rough, trashy people. Not playing here again.
Unimpressive course with friendly staff
Greens were in good condition, remainder of the course needed some mowing and maintenance. Took 2.75 hours to play 9 holes, no marshall ever appeared to speed up the group in front of us. Not worth the drive down from Boston.
Amazing shape and FAST greens!
This crew really knows what they’re doing with their course! Amazing shape and devilishly fast greens! Really looking forward to our next round!
Nice course!!
Tough course but lots of fun. Starter was a jerk but we still had a good time.
Food took a too long at the grill so I wouldn't recommend that.
I am not in rush to go back but its a good design and I would try it again if had a friend that really wanted to play there.
Top notch experience, staff and great test of golf
You will use all the clubs in your bag. Definitely a second-shot golf course. Great staff
South shore gem
Course in great shape for early season. Practice area not open. Hard to judge distances since there were no yardage markers and I don’t carry a rangefinder. Overall a fun layout with an interesting variety of holes; you’ll use every club in the bag.
Very challenging course, not the course you want to walk, poor staff.
At the time, carts weren't available as it was too early in the morning. so we were given push carts. The carts were in very poor condition, and we were treated as definite outsiders to the country club. We were a foursome playing behind a three some, we were instructed at the turn to pick up our pace of play because the group in front was farther ahead of us, we also rounded the first 9 just shy over two hours, walking an extremely hilly course when its full. We were again approached a couple holes later to pick up our pace, we felt very rushed and unwelcomed. Course was in great condition, Carts at the time would've helped. The staff was just very rude which makes you want to try different courses.
