Berkshire Jewel

I played this course 7/27 with The Safari Club and again I was not disappointed. 18 of the easiest, quirkiest, hit your golf ball straight or it will bite you in the butt, funnest(is that a real word?) golf holes ever played. Bare bones pure enjoyment from start to finish (if you play well). If you don't hit the ball too straight, you will be cussing and pulling your hair out. (bring enough ammunition).
This is not your typical back and forth golf course, this was built in an old quarry, so there is lots of elevation and lots of scenery. From the first tee on a clear day you can see Mt Greylock which was recently in the news for something to do with Harry Potter.
Very short course with ample greens which are in great condition! (It seems the shorter the hole, the bigger the greens.) You can leave the driver in the bag if you want.
Budget friendly, barebones proshop, older golf carts, be prepared for an adventure!

Very Scenic

I was amazed at the gorgeous views of all the surrounding Bershire mountains. Can't wait to return in the fall when all the leaves have turned. The Safari Club has done it again with a real hidden gem. Very unexpected course layout with all the ups and downs. So many twists with 90 doglegs and quite a few blind shots. I was lucky to be with two people who had played there before who could guide us. Only down side was returning to a stifling hot clubhouse with out a restaurant and one bartender for 88 hot golfers.

A Hidden Jewel

I played Bas Ridge yesterday with The Safari Club yesterday in hot but perfect weather! The course is called "quirky" by some but there are some great holes throughout the course. Most courses have been hit by the summer drought but Bas Ridge has fared well with mostly green fare ways and beautiful greens that put true.

A great starting hole with a 150 foot drop from tee to green. I hit my tee shot to the right and it bounced all the way down the cart path and ended up fifteen feet right of the pin.

A fun course to play for short money and the cool breeze in the hills was welcomed
