You get what you pay for
It's a $27 Par 3 - not winning awards but friendly staff, fun layout and ease of access makes it 100% worth the money.
Suggestion to management would be just TRY and make the tee boxes a little more tolerable. They're atrocious, I would settle for bad.
Short Game Development Course
I've been coming here for years with my family. So many judge this course without ever playing it, and they are typically "doods" that feel gipped if they don't get to hit their driver (into the woods, lol) when they play a round of golf. It's a stout walk up the first two holes and then a dance on top of the hill, ending with two consecutive downhill shots. They do a great job maintaining the greens and rough areas. The tee boxes are admittedly stressed out in a couple places. I like that the greens are kept receptive and roll true. There are some tricky short shots demanding some tight landing spots with the proper spin, and certain misses on some holes are extremely penal. A great place to bring all skill levels as everyone can have a good time, especially kids that want to be able to reach all the greens. There is a long 3rd hole that plays up to about 180 yards at the tip so bring at least on mid-to-long iron. Cheers and enjoy this little gem.
Great course for beginners like me
I just started playing golf again after a few years off. I started with a couple dozen buckets of golf balls at the range and a couple golf lessons.
I booked a tee time here because I wanted an approachable course to start actually playing again. I played on a week day so I wouldn’t feel pressure to keep pace with groups around me.
I found exactly what I was looking for. The course wasn’t busy and the holes were short enough that I only needed my irons to get on or near the greens from the tees. Naturally, that meant I hit one of nine greens, but for me that’s a win.
To be entirely honest the one significant negative was that the course was not in great shape, but I didn’t expect amazing conditions for this kind of course and at this price. As far as I can tell, this course is also not rated, so you can’t use rounds here for calculating your handicap. For me, neither of those negatives mattered.
If you’re looking for a beginner-friendly and budget-friendly course, this will fit the bill. If you’re a beginner like me, leave your driver and 3w at home, arrive at the clubhouse 15 minutes before your tee time, leave your bag outside the building when you walk in to confirm your tee time, bring 6 balls or so (I only lost 1, but I could easily imagine losing 3 or 4), and don’t be intimidated to play here.
Only person on the course
Good course to dial in the short game. Nice quick round before work.
Nice Par 3 in Boston
Loved this little par 3 as a warm up round before we played 18, greens were in great shape, tee boxes left a bit to be desired, but had a great time!
Stoneham
I haven’t golfed I. 7 years so it was perfect. Great for crappy players like me and beginners. Had a great time and didn’t feel like I was wrecking the course. Most of my friends would disagree with me but they aren’t washed up 8 year hiatus golfers but I’ll be back love it for the money here
Get your golf fix
Great small course to get your golf fix. Can play the 9 holes in little over an hour so it’s perfect for a before work round or if you’re just trying to knock around your irons. Great course to practice your short game.
Decent, quick par 3
Not bad for the money. This course is small but tends to have tee times available most of the time. Leave most of your clubs at home as the longest hole is under 200 yards, you'll likely be using wedges most if the time.
Tee boxes are being worked on but some are currently patches of sand. Greens were in tough shape but also being worked on. A couple challenging, short holes. Decent course if everywhere else is booked.
