Always fun
This course is always fun to play and doesn’t beat you up. Always a good time.
Good Bones/Bad Mgt
Fantastic greens though there is some invasive grass which affects putts. Management of course and clubhouse is nonexistent. Great course if u want cheap golf and dint mind playing 5+hrs behind a 5 or 6 some.
Timber !!
Course was in excellent good condition. Almost perfect greens. I found myself in a few Bunkers that were very playable which surprised me. Plenty of clean dry sand that was well groomed. The golf carts are best in the local area.
Great recovery
This golf course has really come a long way under John the new owner. The greens roll pretty smooth 90 % of the time and the layout isn’t too difficult. The pace of play is good during the week but sometimes backed up on the weekend. It’s really great for the price. Great place to practice.
Dry conditions
This course historically gets dried out in the warmer months if there hasn’t been recent rainfall and I don’t believe they actually water the course at all. As a positive you get more distance on your drives, however the greens are cut too low, therefore they are very firm and fast due to a nearly complete lack of grass on the greens. I like to play this course just not when it’s all dried out.
Looking rough
TT looks to be sliding down as summer ends; tee boxes are often bare ground or crabgrass infested; fairways are needing fertilizer; rough is really getting rough. On the plus side, the greens were in pretty good shape. Only worth the green fee if you catch a Hot Deal on GN.
Great value and course in great shape
1st time course in excellent condition. Carts are first class with built-in range finder and hole layouts. Did manage to get lost on a few holes. Challenging but fun. Staff is great.
Nice to be back!
Met a MS friend and played TT for first time in two years or more. John is continuing to improve the course and the golf experience; drainage work is ongoing, pro shop really is one now, staff is friendly and professional.
TT is a bargain if you can catch a GN hot deal.
A lot of course in repair, but once that is done it will be back to a solid track. Was extremely wet, but that is not the courses fault.
Greens need work.
Course has definitely improved since I moved here in 2010. It has improved tremendously since the name changed to Timber Truss with the new owners. Greens are a little rough right now compared to some other courses in OB (I.e. wedgewood), but it looks like there will be some new features in the spring.
Nice Layout
Very fun to play and the course for October is in really great shape! Try it out if you have not yet and you will enjoy it!
Please get a strarter
I booked a 340 which was the last person available for 340. There was a tournament prior to my time which was still ongoing. Waited over 20 minutes on the 1st for the other twosome to make their way to the box. The other 2 had hit. Subsequent to that 4 other carts all said they were 330 equating to 8 players, no one was 340. Obviously someone was either playing without checking in or course was over booked. I intentionally booked with an already occupied time knowing the course would be slow so playing in a group would be much more tolerable. Instead I had to play as a single, navigating tournament groups. This all could simply be avoided by having a starter. Cherokee has one, wedgewood has one, even the muni courses have one. This is an ongoing issue at this course. It’s the Wild West when it comes to keeping the course orderly
Great place
Challenging course with good greens. The tee boxes could use a little TLC and the greens were a little hard but that’s me just expecting perfecting. Had a great time and flew through this course.
Great course
Passing through town, gave this place a try. Was all alone and completed 18 in 3 hours. Awesome course. Would love to come back, challenging with all the water. Greens were quick but true! Enjoyed this place.
Nice when dry
Grabbed a Hot Deal and played this course for first time in almost two years. The new owner has done a lot to improve both the course conditions and the overall experience; nice carts with GPS, significantly upgraded the pro shop, and made some drainage improvements.
All in all a great value for a Hot Deal!
