Lakes/Sunrise at Spanish Trail Country Club
About
Opened in 1984, Spanish Trail Country Club is one of Las Vegas' oldest golf courses. The club offers 27 holes divided into three unique nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire golf course is filled with tree-lined fairways, undulating hills, and sparkling lakes but each nine offers a distinct environment. The Lakes/Sunrise Course is the shortest of the three combinations at 6,957 yards. The aptly named Lakes nine has water coming into play on six holes. Golfers should be prepared for several forced carries as well as water guarding the greensides on five holes. The fifth hole on the Sunrise nine was ranked as one of the toughest holes on the PGA Tour back in the late 80s when the club hosted the Las Vegas Invitational. The back nine also has plenty of water, most notably on its signature final hole, which features a scenic waterfall.

Par 3 - Spanish Trail Photo submitted by Bissonpa on 11/26/2012
Great day.
Always a great time at this course. I hope allowing non- members to play continues.
Great Course
The course was in great shape and I would definetly play it again.
“Lake” is impressive.,.
The 9 holes LAKE is very challenging. Even good players may need few extra balls. One Par three hole with water falls
was impressive, the small circular pond near green may be too much
Nice but cold
This is a beautiful and a bit challenging course but can certainly be more exciting with a little more enthusiasm from the staff. The atmosphere lacks warmth with no smiling faces and welcoming greetings. Perhaps because they have to work on New Year’s eve? A few minutes of course overview could also have prevented some confusion among newbies who could not seem to follow the signs to the holes for each of the three courses.
After watching a couple if shots bounce off the bunkers I should have gotten the clue that there is not much sand in them. You can break a wrist instead! Other than that the course is kindof picturesque , with those humongous homes in the background.
Nice course ln Vegas .. I like it
Its nice layout , not too tough but not too easy . . But Tough green , easy access from strip
Friendly services . We enjoyed it .
We will be back soon Thank you ,
Kaz from LA
Nice Round
Greens roll fast and true. Staff was friendly and pace was great.
Very nice course, good value.
I was very happy with the course conditions and the pace of play was great. The only bad thing was that when we checked in we were told that we had to pay an additional $5.00 per player fee for the amenities of the course such as GPS on cart, water on the cart and driving range .....even though we didn’t use the driving range.
Well worth the greens fees. Try it
Very nice country club with 27 holes. Each 9 is different. Well maintained and 1st class. I play here every time I get to Las Vegas.
Extra charge
After paying for Roy d on golf now the course wanted to charge an additional five dollars per person! An extra charge that was not indicated on website
Bad Experience Overall
There was 40+mph winds. Patio furniture blown onto the course. Decorative fountain waterfall streaming onto the fairways. Couldn't re-book because "policy" states that course was "open". Not a good policy in my book. Only lasted a few holes...putts blown off the greens. Tried to call Golfnow and they were unable to adjust. I'll think twice before booking another "dealtime"
Unethical or not - your call
There is a mandatory $5 charge for water, range balls and GPS. It's written in the fine print - which the check in person arrogantly pointed it out (=read it buddy!) If it's mandatory why not build into the green fee rather than hiding it? Worse, golfnow payment page said $0.00 due at course.
Also this is a "private course". Both time i was there I didn't feel welcome or public belong there.
Revere, Arroyo Rock, Siena to name a few *never* gave me that impression and there are always pleasantries with smiles.
You decide.
Great Day
As always the course was in great shape. The traps are the best around with soft sand and no rocks or pebbles. One of the few courses you actually wanted to do a great job of raking them out after use because they didn’t destroy your clubs. Had a great day.
Play at least once
Nice course, with decent staff. Only advice; call them if you book a golfnow hot deal, and make sure lakes is on your round. The other 2 courses although in great shape are boring, and repeatable. I would not play here again unless lakes was part of my 18.
Beware Twilight Hot Deals
Scheduled for 12.10 p.m. tee off, notified at check in tee offs running "a few minutes late." Once 40 minutes past tee off, checked in pro shop to see if we had missed call. No one there. But after energetic Helloooos from me, person emerged and said again: "We're running a few minutes late." While I have played 18 holes on this course numerous times in 3 hours 30 minutes, 12.50 - 3.20 late November leaves us with minimal light. Into the second hole, we were held up no less than 5-12 minutes on each of the following 7. At the turn there were 2 groups waiting to tee off. Impossible to finish for many who paid dearly.
Absolutely smitten
Truly an elite course! The staff was incredibly accommodating and courteous. On course amenities were top notch and well organized. The condition of the course was spectacular and the perfect backdrop of the mountains was stunning. I could play here everyday if i could. A++
