Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

Garrison GEM
I can't believe this course in closing. A VERY SAD statement. Front nine has so many great holes and the back nine is suppose to be easier which it is. The views are beautiful and course was in good shape for the all rain we've had. PLAY IT WHILE YOIU STILL CAN!
Why bother
It’s my understanding that the golf course is closing down after this season. The rough along the fairways isn’t well taken care of, and the greens are in sad shape. Also, I went into the pro shop to buy Titleist Tru Feel balls…..they want 52.00 for box of a dozen balls that you can buy in any other pro shop or online for 22.00. The views of the Hudson River, and West Point are spectacular, and the course is challenging. But for 95.00 a round, you’re better off playing at a municipal course that’s in better shape.
Great course, needs cart service
Great course overall, no cart service which is a miss during the hot summer days.
Challenging course with interesting landscaping
Layout of the course provides a very quiet and comfortable setting
Sad to see you Go
Hearing that this is the last year for this course. It was good to play it for possibly the last time. very challenging
course with great views.
Tale of two 9’s - Jekyll and Hyde
Some of the most scenic holes in the Hudson Valley- but with a few almost “unfair” holes - especially on the front 9. Bring extra golf balls and a camera!
Closing
This course is challenging with rolling faireays and quick greens. It’s well maintained and the staff is great. Unfortunately, this season is apparently going to be its last as the place is closing down. A real shame and area golfers will be missing a great track. Get a round or two in before it is no more.
