Best condition in years. Right now it is definitely in top 10 in Piedmont. Tight fairways and smoot greens. Two thumbs up!
Great course!!!
Course is in fantastic shape. Pace of play was a little slow but it was very crowded. I had a single tee time and there was a group of three teeing off right behind me. I ask if they wanted to join so they would not have to wait on me all day. Great group of guys who play out there a lot.
Staff was very friendly. I paid $55 bucks for 18 with a cart and a bucket of balls. You cannot beat that price. because the course was in great shape-- especially with the volume of traffic.,
This course used to host the Greater Greensboro Open back in the day-- which is cool. The guys I played with said it fell into disrepair a while back but two local guys purchase the course and have put a lot of money into it.
My home course is closed for renovations until October. However, I will be playing Forest Oak until it reopens and then some. Frankly, I have payed a lot more $$ for a much worse course.
Bit Of A Disappointment
Had no knowledge the back 9 would be closed due to fairway aerification. Since this was our entire foursomes first time playing here we were very disappointed we couldn’t play all 18 holes of this storied course. Have watched many GGO’s and was looking forward to playing where so many tour pros had played. Would go back if all 18 holes available.
Rain check
Course is in great condition, however if your Tee time is after 4pm there are no rain checks allowed
Keeps Getting Better
The course is in great condition. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Fantastic course shape
Green, fairway and tee box absolutely perfect shape
Even though it packed it takes 3and half hour defInitely come back soon
I really enjoy this course
The staff was courteous, and professional . The course was in great shape, and it was a very enjoyable day.
Nice open course at a reasonable price.
A friend and I played today (6/4/20) and enjoyed the course. I reserved an 8:40am tee time via GolfNow.com and check-in and payment at the course was a breeze. We found the course to be well-manicured with some high rough on a few holes. Greens were in nice shape despite the numbers divots that players were not repairing. We would definitely go back again. Thanks!
Nice Course
I really enjoyed the round today. The course is in great shape, really fun and challenging.
Awesome condition with new owner in place
Started playing here as a guest in the early ‘90s when it was still private (lived here but was never a member) and maintained as such.
Day to day management changes caused the facility to lose it ex PGA Tourney course luster over the past 15 years; but fast forward to present day and the new owners have workers non-stop around the property.
It’s a very easy course to walk with a carry bag or push cart so don’t be afraid of the length on the card.
Fairways are excellent and the three week old punched greens will be dead solid perfect in ~10 days.
Good layout. Can play tough or not depending on the tee
Course in mint condition. Green rolling pure and fairways perfect conditions. Just a few par 3 plays extremely long from even blue tee. Just play tee to your game. I played blue tee all throughout but played on white tee for every par 3. Good value for money spent. Friendly staff as well
Good course, conditions, friendly staff
Forest Oaks has improved since the last time I played there. Conditions were better. Grass still needs to grow in a bit.
They did an excellent job of ensuring that golfer safety and health are top priority during the Corona Virus outbreak.
I went out by myself and played in 3 hours, great pace of play. The layout has character.
Sergei in the pro shop and Heather at the snack bar are helpful, friendly, and professional.
I would play Forest Oaks again.
Low Cost for decent course
Course deserves recwnt good press for sprucing the place up. Best thing is low cost. I've played a few times recently between $21 - $26 weekdays and weekends. I think they still do memberships but basically comparable to any decent area municipal or public course. Can't imagine much incentive to get a membership at their low rates unless you also play a lot of tennis
Great Course
Course in good shape and improving . Ranger must have been asleep - 4 slow walkers holding up pace of play and would not let us through
Good course
The greens were in as good a shape as any I've ever played, some of the tee boxes and fairways not as much. Despite the current health concerns they made our foursome share two carts despite asking for separate ones. Guess they'd rather ignore social distancing in order to avoid having to charge a few extra carts. Even tho they refused our request for separate carts the foursome behind us all had their own. Also sent out a single player immediately behind us on the first tee, not exactly how a starter should do his job
Beware of the cart upcharge
So when I get there my friend picked me up at my car explaining that if I wanted a separate cart that I would have to pay $15.00. I was surprised by this as every other course I have been to recently has been good about a separate cart for every golfer. We did ride together but I was disappointed that it wasn't mentioned when I was signing up for the round.
