Very enjoyable round…ve
Paired with two very hospitable NC gentlemen that welcomed & explained every hole/shot! Well worth the money!!! TJ
My favorite golf course in town
I always love playing here. The chorus is beautiful and is made for all types of golfers no matter the experience level.
Good choice for golf in the Raleigh area
Course layout is outstanding, and considering the time of year, course condition was excellent. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Beautiful track w true rolling greens
See title. Tuesday afternoon in February- sold us the tee time then messaged our cart that we were last ones / only ones playing and to hurry up and get back. I mean I guess I understand and we skipped holes to get back faster. Even though we had more daylight and weren’t advised to be back by certain time.
Other than that - great time and great service!
Nice Day In January
Course was ok for winter in NC. The greens were better than other courses. fairways were also decent. Only thing not decent was the temp
A pleasure...usually
Have played RR many times and almost always enjoy it. It is a well laid out track with speedy greens and challenging angles. The course stays in remarkably good shape even though it gets a lot of play. The clubhouse is spartan but adequate and the concession stand is similar. (A little slow sometimes) The practice area is typical for this type of course. One putting green, one chipping green and one sand trap. The driving range is sufficient to get warmed up before a round. My only complaint in the past has been pace of play. If you are not the first tee time, particularly in the busy season, there is always an chance you wind up in a log jam with a 4 1/2 or 5 hour round. There does not seem to be a ranger inclined to deal with this and if you call the clubhouse they have a tendency to be argumentative about the pace of play. Overall, still a great course and one of my favorites in the Raleigh area.
Sand traps
Overall, good condition for Jan. Could definitely use more sand in the bunkers. The several I visited had less than a 1/4 inch.
Greens great as usual, not breaking as much as we were used to.
Premium Rate Not Worth It
I like this course. But for the price they are charging now, it's not worth it. Decent layout and overall good conditions but not great. But for $80, the greens are bumpy and sparse in a few areas, there is no water on the course or beverage cart circulating the course, tee times are too close together and there is no ranger enforcing pace of play. We waited several minutes on every tee shot after around hole 7. Sparsly waited before that but it only got longer and longer waits each tee and started having to wait pretty much every shot except putts. What is the point of having a timer on your cart GPS if it doesn't matter when it sayd you're 25 minutes behind pace....? I mentioned the slow pace of play to two people after the round in the clubhouse and neither of them said anything or basically acknowledged I was speaking to them at all.
Moral of the story, this is a Hot Deal course. It's a $50-$60 course. The only time I will pay stock rate again will be in a pinch.
Greens are a little bumpy.
Course is a bit hard, the ground is hard. Greens roll true but are a little bumpy. Lots of unfixed ball marks. Nice course layout.
River Ridge rocks
Light on river and heavy on ridge, this course is a fun challenge. It doesn't have length (6300yds from the tips) but the routing and green's defends par. There might have been 2 holes where you weren't asked to work your drive right or left. I played in early March and the grass was still dormant. The greens have a ton of movement and slope. Not excessively large and there are well defined pin placements. I'd come back in a heart beat.
