Buyer beware
Do your research before booking. 3200 yards, 4 par 4s, tee boxes are in crap shape, ant hills everywhere, greens rock hard and super long grass. $27.50 for a round is absolutely highway robbery. Shut it down!
Perfect practice makes perfect
I am new to golf and found that this course offered a great place to work on my game without the fear of judgement. It is small, but perfect for working with irons, chips, and putting. I love this course because it is reliable, friendly, and right around the corner from my house. I will be a regular here.
Read before playing.
I would not call this a golf course. It’s more of some rough tee boxes and greens set up between a bunch of townhouses/apartments. The conditions aren’t great, and hole layouts and distances are unique. I’d much rather pay a couple dollars more to play an actual course. Honestly I would rather just go to a driving range.
I would say this course might be good for a beginner or youth golfer. However, some of the holes are tight with homes very nearby.
Just Have Fun
First, the gentleman at the pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a short track, and the conditions are not the best. The bunkers are non existent, as they are all overgrown with grass; greens are patchy and bumpy (one actually has mushrooms popping up on it) so don’t expect putts to roll true. But for the price point, this is adequate. My son and I just took our time and had fun; playing mini games as we went along. If you come here not expecting to take it seriously, and just to share time out on the course, having fun playing some golf, then you will enjoy this course. Come out here expecting Sedgefield or Old Town, you’re not going to the right place. It’s not pretentious at all, and can provide a fun couple of hours out in the sun.
Good practice course
Super dry hot. Would be a great course after some rain. Been a dry month. Was good to practice distance control on.
Great course for a quick 18
This executive course is my go to place to sneak away and get a quick break. Mostly par 3s with a few par 4s you can be in and out in two hours.
Good for beginners
I have only played a out 12 rounds my whole life. All my other rounds were at big fancy courses that were tough for beginners. This course has alot of short par 3s and has actually built my confidence more.
Honest golfer
The constant struggle to find my ball in the middle of the “fairway” is obnoxious. The greens are bumpy and poorly maintained. The amount of “swamps” in the middle of the fairways is also quite annoying. The upkeep of the areas surrounding the fairways are lacking and you’re charging $15 for a MINOR to ride along?! Why when it’s $20 to play a whole round??????
Wow will be back.
I’ve lived in Winston all my life. Past this course a thousand times. Decided today to take a chance at getting some practice in. I must say I was surprised at the course!!
Improve your game
So I have played this course four times in the last six weeks and even though it's only a par 60 course it is a good place to polish your game. The longest hole is a par 4 that is just over 300yds. This has been a great place to work on my irons and short game.
Too many par 3s
The course had 90% par 3 holes, no par 5s . The course was in pretty good shape considering the recent rainy weather and dry conditions preceding and following the rain. It played wide open, not too many difficult obstacles, mostly down hill play and only 2 uphill or level holes. Overall a fun course but not one I'd play again.
You get what you pay for
Course is in ROUGH shape. Good course for a newbie to get comfortable with the game. Lots of par 3s and short iron tee shots. Staff is friendly.
