This past October and November the greens were as good as I can remember. Sleepy Hollow punches the greens twice in the spring and twice in the fall. In the past the aeration caused the greens to be bumpy. They were smooth and fast this fall. The only negative aspect is that some golfers are discourteous in not allowing faster players to play through. The rangers should encourage faster play, but they are the biggest offenders when they are playing. In one instance an employee playing in the only foursome on the course in front of me and my playing partner said "You guys need to slow down".
The same thing happened to me and the guy I was playing with. And, one of the rangers stole his ProV from the rough. We saw him do it - and he denied it. Unreal.
One of the best golf courses in the Cleveland area. They like to punch out the greens about 2 or 3 times throughout the season - but when they heal up - they are the best around for a public course. The course it tremendously busy all summer, so a really good time to get out is spring or late fall. One problem we have encountered several times is that the employees, namely some of the elderly starters and rangers, really do take advantage of the free golf and don't take kindly to letting faster players play thru. Kind of strange, considering the fact that they play for free and should respect faster players who paid their greens fee.
