Rating 72.9

Called "your hometown golf resort" by the Hamilton County Park District, the Vineyard golf course sits atop Woodland Mound, and offers a well-sculpted layout, with soft meadows that roll through thick woods. The Vineyard is laid out to test, with a trio of ponds and well-groomed tees and greens - in an area chockfull of exclusive country clubs, this is a public golf course that might lay just as well as many of them do. Accolades include a spot among Golf Digest's "Top 10 Public Golf Courses in Ohio," as well as four stars by the same publication.

The Vineyard's par-71 course measures 6,789 yards, and a round of golf kicks off on a par 4 that lays to 365 yards from the Blue tees; things get long on the second hole, which is one of three par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards from the Blue tees. The golf course is also home to four short tricky par-3 holes, each measuring 215 yards from the Blue tees. A round of golf winds up on a par 4 that plays to 422 yards from the Blue tees.

Hit it Straight!

My advice to anybody playing this course: club down and hit it straight. Trees typically line both sides of the fairway and if the drive is spraying it, you'll be punching out sideways more times that not. Course layout is decent and cost is fair. #10 is a terrible hole.

Disappointed

Most of the rough doesn’t seem to have been cut for a week or more. Rough was between 4-6 inches long in most areas and on one hole my drive was less than 10 feet off the fairway and I was in 12” of rough. Considering this is the premier Hamilton County course it’s not managed very well. This is at least the 3rd or 4th time something like this has happened to me.

Challenging for anyone but nice overall

This course is very challenging with the hills, lakes, and trees everywhere. It’s not easy, but it sure is fun. It’s a nice course in great shape.

Vineyard is a Good One

Playing the Vineyard is always a fun challenge. Was in very good shape. Was nice that they allowed us to take 1 person carts during COVID -- appreciated.

Suggestion: They should put a short game area and some hitting nets to warm up out in the area to the right of the first fairway. Would be great to stretch out and warm up a bit.

In Good Shape

Vineyard is in very good shape. Good one to play.

Would be great if they built a range (or at least nets to hit into to warm up) but other than that a strong choice.

Good shape for February!

Well for February it was in good shape. Greens rolling pretty good. The only thing was the bunkers but they are re doing some of them so that was no big deal. I recommend playing this one !!!
