The Madden Golf Course is a municipal course that is suitable for all skill levels. The course was built on hilly terrain causing some elevation changes and uneven lies. The fairways are lined with trees and the average-sized greens are medium to fast in speed. Sand bunkers are present on the course and there are also water hazards that come into play on eight holes. The course starts with a challenging par-5, which requires an approach shot over a creek to a green that is well protected by a sand bunker in front. The Madden Golf Course facility also boasts a putting green and teaching pro.

Strange course layout
Not a bad course but not a great course either. Bring a range finder with you so you know the distance to the drainage ditches.
Greens were in decent shape, tee boxes were a little rough and hard and the fairways had a lot of thin and bare patches.
Worth playing, though, as long as you don't pay too much!!!
Really
Play the course this morning and the staff did not let me know there was a league that started the back nine. I had to wait an hour to tee off after I finished the front. I waited every hole to tee off. The staff has got to recognise this issue.
good day on the course
the course was in great shape. the newly redone tee boxes were beautiful.
We enjoyed the round very much, the course can be a little confusing from some greens to the next tee. I needs to be marked a bit more clearly
All around great course!
Beautiful course, well-maintained, challenging greens, actual grass driving range. Definitely recommend this course!
Municipal course , municipal conditions
The back 9 tee boxes need cut extremely bad , the are level with the surrounding grass. Bunkers need turned more regularly, at least the got sand in them this year. Greens are extremely difficult to putt, they need slowed down. I play this course weekly for a work golf league.
This course well manicured
The course is in great shape, green real fast but in good shape. Great day out
Course play-ability and codition
Really enjoyed this muni course. fairways are in great shape, as well as greens. Friendly pro shop and starter just added to the days enjoyment.
Fun place to hit em
Multiple elevated tees..decent shape, other than getting a wift of the sewage plant every now and then...this is a fun course...my favorite Dayton Public course by far.
Enjoyed the round, but there was a bad smell in the air
Nice course, but it smells.
The course layout, the staff, condition of the greens, was all fairly good. The issue is the smell. There is a water treatment facility across the street. There were a few places that weren't too bad but a lot of the course smelled like the inside of a porta-potty on day 3 of the sauerkraut festival. I hadn't played Madden in 20 years and it will probably be a another 20 years before I try it again.
Nice course
most character of city of Dayton courses. lots of elevation changes. very well maintained. Glad i was partnered with someone else that played there before. Even thought cart paths had next hole direction painted on them, i was still confused as to where next hole was a few times.
Great golf course
Grass was well cut and well maintained -easy to find ball. Lots of trees to shade you from sun on hot day. Easy to find the next hole to tee off from...in some places directions are painted on paved cart path. Our cart was in good shape. Very few sandtraps and no ponds -great for our beginner/intermediate golf game. Part of course is on top of hill-scenic, however the cart paths to get up & down hill are steep and long. Golf pace was slow due to a tournament and weekend crowd. The food is great at the resturtant. The Polish Sausage dogs were the best !
