Nice little hidden gem
I was pleasantly surprised in what I found here. This course is tucked into a suburban residential area. Very reasonable cost and fairly well maintained, considering recent rain. The greens were in excellent shape and the terrain was diverse (hills, flat, water, sand, wide and narrow fairways). Locally I would compare it to Whiteford Valley and will play this one again.
Course is in much better shape than past few years
Under new management and you can tell. The course is in much better shape although still too much crabgrass on some of the tees. Fairways are in good shape and cut properly. They have also reduced the length of the rough which helps. The greens have plenty of grass, maybe too much as they are a bit slow and somewhat firm, but they roll true. The course does not drain well, so they still have some issues from all the rain in June. Several blind shots to elevated greens. Back nine is short with a few easy holes but can also cause problems with all the trees, hills and blind shots.
Cheap hilly and in need of a lawn mower.
Course wouldn't be so bad but the grass is out of control. I lost balls on the middle,of the fairway.
Needs some work
This appears to have been a really nice course st one time. It's still a nice layout but in a lot of areas has been unattended. I guess it's been up for sale and very little has been done to maintain it. For the price I didn't feel cheated but I was still expecting a better course. My bigger issue is with Golfnow. I absolutely love the site but the directions for this course and many others I've played are generally wrong. I usually have to put the address in my mapquest app. The directions through Golfnow are always off by a few miles for some reason. Not a big deal but hope you guys can fix it.
Use to be a nice course
This course use to be really nice. Now it looks like they are on the verge of closing down. The fairway is mostly weeds, the tee boxes are beyond repair, and the cart path looks like an extreme 4X4 track. The only positive thing I have to write is the greens are in good shape. I hope they either sell the course or turn it into a park and focus all their efforts on the banquet hall. What a shame.
Tamaron country club
Tamaron is fairly well burned out. The greens are in decent shape but the rough is not watered and the fairways are fair. A few things on this course are disappointing. If you've never played there the back nine is extremely short. The Rolling hills on many of the holes give the course it's unique challenges of sidehill, uphill, and downhill lies. The course upkeep is lacking. For example the cart paths that are ridiculous and downright dangerous. Huge ruts and even larger potholes are everywhere, even on some severe downsloping holes. Overall, the course is what it is. If you can get a discount rate it's worth checking out one time if you haven't been there.
Could be a lot better
Sand pits were like hitting off concrete. Dandelion stems in the fairways, don't miss a fAirway bc ruff is so thick it eats balls. Tee boxes are a joke. Could barley get a tee in the ground on most it was so hard an more then half needed to be resodded as it was difficult to find a small patch of grass on the box to place my tee. Worth $20 for a rd and cart not $40
worth the time!
When we made the turn they put league play out 10 minutes early...we had to jump ahead 4 holes then come back and wait at the tee box on 10 for 2 more groups...the greens are in excellent condition...the tee boxes could improve...the course is in much better shape than when I played it a couple of years ago!
Challenging Course
This is a beautiful, hilly, challenging course with tricky putting. The course is doable with good shots!
Love this course & will definitely return.
Elevation Changes & Small Greens on 20's Course
Tamaron CC was built in the late 1920's and it's clearly evident when playing it today. The course isn't very long (6,000 yds) and is similar to many courses of that era with small elevated undulating greens. I've only played the course on other time and it's a very quirky course if your not familiar with it as many holes have blind tee shots or approaches. The course condition with average as the fairways were shaggy in spots and the rough was mostly clover. The greens were in very good shape and rolled true all day. This is a course that I would reccomend for an occasional round at a discount but besides that I would play other courses in the area.
cart paths, oh boy!!!
Overall the course was in fine shape. However, the cart paths, even though there has been some improvements to then, still need much attention paid to them.
Good course, full of hills.
I enjoyed this course, although it was pretty tough for a novice golfer like myself. Steep hills come into play on many holes. Cart paths are in terrible shape and usually have to be completely avoided. I will definitely play again, but will make sure I do at the hot deal price I paid.
Great value for the money.
The course is under repair in some areas, however mainly out of play areas. The greens are great and the course is pretty challenging for an average golfer like myself. I will be back very soon!
garbage
This course is underwater, poor conditions, slow greens would never go back. Course needs to be reseeded also.
Bad course, bad greens
Dirt in bunkers, weeds on fairways, bald patches on greens. Worst course I have played in years. Weird layout to boot.
Ok maintenance, good change in terrain.
I've seen this course in much better shape in the past, but for the price it wasn't horrible. Some of the greens are in great shape, while others are not. At times the fairways were more like rough, and the rough was more like US Open style rough. Not sure if they just didn't cut the fairways, but in most cases it was tough to distinguish the two. The course layout is good, but the condition isn't the best. I will likely not go back until there is a change in course conditions for the better; the course is good for a cheap 18 holes with rolling terrain. Overall, it's so-so at this point in my opinion.
If you like putting through craters this is your course.
These are the worst greens I have ever seen in the Toledo area.
Great Value
Good course, great value for price. The one employee might want to spend time repairing some small areas on the course instead of looking for golf balls. Bar staff was very friendly.
Exactly. I just posted a similar comment. The golf cart paths are dangerous. Would be a nice course if they just put a little effort into maintaining it.
