River Falls Plantation
About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Greens
The course had recently aerated the greens so they were a bit rough and bumpy. Necessary maintenance. The fairways were full and plush. Overall great condition. Greens will improve in the coming days.
This sucked
Bad greens. Horrible layout. Horrible service. Would not recommend to a friend.

The course was well designed and in good condition. I really liked the unconventional design of the holes. The course was difficult especially for a first time player. .
Nice course but needs some upkeep
After reading reviews, I did have some higher expectations for the course. The greens were pretty dried out and patchy which made 2 holes nearly unplayable from certain angles. The whole course layout is downhill and it’s also pretty short so it’s accessible for almost any golfer. Nice course but could be a great course with a little more attention to the greens and paths.
Tough
This is a nice course. Well maintained….a lot of variety in the greens and Fairways and plenty of water to carry…..a little too tough for me. You have to be a pretty good player to enjoy the course….. You have to really hit it where you want to……worth checking out. I don’t think I’ll be back as I live in Florida
Well maintained course
The course is great. Went to play 9 on Sunday afternoon and was started on the back 9 which is fine but there were several really slow foursomes. Really should send some folks off the front to help with pace of play
Great course
Enjoy this course, staff is courteous and friendly. Course is challenging and in great condition.
Fun and interesting course. Tee boxes need re-sodding
Good layout and some challenging holes. Smooth and fair greens. Some tee boxes need work
Nice layout!
One of the greatest things I enjoy about golf is driving out to courses that I never played before and this is how I ended up at River Falls on April 13. I was immediately impressed by the community that surrounds the course and all the azaleas that were in bloom on this beautiful spring day. The clubhouse was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The course was the star attraction, however. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout. The fairways were still a little tight, leading to lots of rollout, and there wasn't much rough to speak of, but the conditions were overall pristine. There were many memorable holes as well as some very unique challenges. I really enjoyed the holes that ran along the river and I really, really enjoyed the elevation changes on many other holes. Several holes required very precise placement and I appreciate course that don't make you reach for driver on very hole. Some of my long irons got a workout on the tee boxes, which for me was a refreshing change of pace from the bomb and gouge style of play you need at some venues. While I enjoy traveling to new courses, this is one course I can't wait to get back to and try again.
