Mission Del Lago Municipal Golf Course
About
Mission del Lago Golf Course is nestled along the shores of Mitchell Lake across the flat lands of San Antonio’s south side. The golf course has a traditional links-style layout, meaning trees are sparse and windy, wide open spaces are abundant. The challenging golf course features more than a hundred sand traps and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. There are also multi-tiered greens, most of which are fast and undulating, and dry creek beds coming into play that require keen short game skills and careful strategy. The gusty Texas winds are probably the most challenging factor, though. Mission del Lago Golf Course is tricky, but five sets of tees give players of all skill levels a chance to play.

Another fun round at Mission Del Lago
We started at @;30 on a Saturday afternoon and were stacked up the entire course, but the pace we just perfect and we finished all 18!!! We like this course.
Mission De Lago
Great Course, Have some Eye Sores though... It appears to be a Wild Hog problem and them rooting on some of the holes.
Nice open fairways.
Fairways and green need attention. The speed of play was extremely slow but new golfers were in front so it was justified. The grass clippings covered the ball in a couple of fairway..
Nice open and easy course
Greens were very soggy, cart paths are rough, muddy patches along cart paths, stagnate water on one hole
Fairways and tee boxes were very nice and well kept. Greens looked nice but were soggy
Course in great shape especially greens. Pace of play great.
Most of the holes had wide fairways which was great but many of the holes were protected by bunkers and the sand was not really good for blast shots. Holes 6 and 7 have always been very hard for me but I got lucky and pared #7. Wil play agin soon.
would definitly play again
loved the course and the difficulty was great for my skill level. the size of the greens where awesome and the fairways where plush i have to put in my top ten courses that i have played in San Antonio. the only bad part was a little trash around the course so it might be a turn off to some people, but i really enjoyed myself and had a great time.
Course was in good shape.
It had been a several years since I play Mission de Lago. The course is still fun to play and in good shape. I would recommend it to anyone in the San Antonio area.
Needs help
Definitely my least favorite of the San Antonio municipals in terms of course conditions. Greens were in poor shape after aerating, like they didn't use enough sand to fill the punches. Fairways were in better shape than usual, but that's not saying much.
Too bad, as this course has an interesting layout, and is one of my favorite when in good shape. Unfortunately, it;s been a few years since that was the case.
I played there with a free round from my Alamo Golf Trail punch card with my Monday league. Otherwise, I would have been upset.
