Rose Park Golf Course
About
Rose Park Golf Course, nestled in the northwest corner of the Salt Lake Valley, just minutes from downtown and Salt Lake City International Airport, is known for some of the finest bent grass greens in Utah.
After opening as a nine-hole golf course in 1959, Rose Park moved into the 1970s as a contemporary 18-hole layout renowned for its succession of doglegs and some of the best-manicured fairways in Utah. A variety of pine and willow trees frame most fairways, requiring accuracy off the tee.
Rose Park, which measures 6,898 yards from the blue tees, has played host to various state and USGA qualifying events and was the site of U.S. Senior Amateur and National Public Links qualifying in 1996.
Ducks, geese and other feathered friends often swoop in to spend the day on the banks of the Jordan River and adjacent wetlands. Rose Park Golf Course is also very enjoyable for those who like to walk.

Quiet, smooth, pleasurable COVID-19 roun
I was very thankful for the opportunity to play golf during the COVID-19 pandemic; the course had effective procedures that allowed us to still enjoy an 18-hole round while implementing proper social distancing as everyone walked; thank you to the staff and Salt Lake City for providing this exercise opportunity.
The course had some damage on fairways and a few greens, but it was a very pleasant, fun, afternoon round; the staff was only interacted with via the phone for check-in once we arrived after booking online, but since our 2-some was present, we were directed to follow the group on the tee box; the round was very smooth until we got to #17 where we caught up to the 2-some that was in front of us during the round; they were being held up by a father and his two young sons who had been sent out in front of them on the back nine; they invited us to play in with them for the last two holes which then made the delay quite minimal.
I enjoy playing Rose Park GC and recommend it to beginner and intermediate level players; the gentlemen with whom we joined in we’re playing the black (back) tees, so I would assume it is a challenging course for advanced level players as well.
Great fall golf round
Rose Park has always been a course I enjoy playing because of their friendly staff and the course provides ample challenges; for the fall season, the course was in good shape, and the only real negative of the round was that the club house sent a two-some out on the back nine as we were on the turn; the issue was that it’ll the two were walking and were playing the red tees but really only held us up slight for five holes; otherwise, the two gentlemen I was paired with made the round extremely fun and enjoyable; I will continue to include Rose Park GC in my regular play.
Good round
My son and I decided to play and took advantage of an after 5pm tee time which was accompanied by a reduced green/cart fee; the pace of play for the round was very good once we were able to play through the two groups in front of us after the first five holes; the course was in good condition, and it was definitely worth the time and money; it was my first round at Rose Park this year, but it is definitely one I enjoy playing every year; I would recommend it to beginner and intermediate golfers.
