Very nice to play must keep ball out of rough, it’s tough but not unbearable. Greens were quick with a lot of turns.
Worth the trip
Played Fox Run while on vacation. Course conditions were awesome. Great mountain golf course. Go play here, you will love it!
Gem in Vermont’s Mountains
Played a late season twilight round making it very affordable, but it was a looong round. Course winds up, down and around hills and valleys, it has active streams and Mountain View’s a plenty. Conditions were perfect. In my top five in Vermont!
More beautiful than Spyglass
I've played the RTJ courses in Alabama, several in the Pebble Beach complex, Sand Valley and Whistling Straits in Wisconsin and most of the top courses in Michigan, including Arcadia Bluffs. Okemo Valley Golf Club, so far, is my favorite. Unmatched beauty and plenty challenging. Thanks!
Always a treat
Course still open November 5, which is a treat. Course still in great shape. Only 4 cars in parking lot so had Course to ourselves.
Course is a joy to play. Great views. Definitely top 5 in state.
A beautiful walk in the vt mountains
In my opinion the best of vt golf. It has beauty, length, toughness, & altitude but yet fair. You will not easily forget the many streams that need to be avoided nor the rolling fairways that you hope your ball ends in. The rough is thick & if there has been rain could be like playing @ the US Open. The par 17th hole over the water is a great hole & one if you leave with a par you definitely have a smile on your face.
Great finishing hole & the food & drinks in the restaurant is a perfect ending to a great day in the vt mountains.
Challenging but fun course
Played Okemo for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Booked a hot deal for $25 instead of the usual $85 to play. I told my friend later in the evening and he managed to get it for $19.
The course is under 6000 yards from the white tees, but it is still very challenging with the placement of bunkers and water hazards. The fairways were in great condition. We had a storm come through the day before so the bunkers were packed down and were tough to play out of. A few of the greens must have been burned by frost as a few holes were brown in spots and damaged. The 10th pin position was put 4 inches from a dead spot which had a 3 inch strip of no grass and naturally my ball ended up in it after I missed my 8 foot par putt.
We were the 2nd group out and followed a single player so we had no problems with pace and only took 3 1/2 hours. The electric carts are very nice so you dont get distracted by the noise.
Ended up shooting 100 as I had a few blowout holes from poor tee shots resulting in a 10 on a par 5 and an 8 on the last as I was too excited about possibly shooting under 100 on my first Okemo visit and never kept my head down through the swing....D'oh!!!
Overall it was very enjoyable and was a steal at the price. You'd pay more at a couple of other courses in the area that arn't even 1/5th as good as Okemo.
Will definately be back for that deal.
Hi crashbird. where did you find the "hot deal" for Okemo. much appreciated
