Simply put, Stonehouse Golf Club is a great track. It offers shot values, beauty, and a unique experience. Most of the courses in the area lack the dramatic elevation changes and rugged terrain that Stonehouse oozes with. The conditioning has been a problem in the past, but usually the course is in good enough condition to savor the experience. Overall, I would put Stonehouse in the top five of all courses in the area.
WOW!!!!
If blind shots are what you are looking for, this is your course. Bring your A+ game with you. Mr. Strantz can design some "interesting" courses. We played it twice and the second time was a bit more enjoyable. If you are over a 15 hdc. play the whites, long tee shots over ravines. Very unforgiving if not in the short grass. But aren't we supposed to play in the short grass? Huge, rolling, bent grass greens are nice once you can find them! Staff was great and very helpful with arranging replays after the round. Scale of 1 to 10 (8)!
Explore the majestic Virginia mountain resort dates back to 1787, host to numerous USGA events and play Unlimited Golf on 3 courses with spa, hiking, fishing, bowling alley, night club etc, staring at $385 pp daily.
