Legend Trail Golf Club
About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Another Great Hole Photo submitted by mhinkle on 09/23/2012
Overall disappointment
Course was in terrible condition right before reseeding, but the rates did not reflect it. Definitely not worth the $300 paid for a twosome. Have gone to places that are less than half of that and have been way better.
This course has a snobby feel to it.
I think the course is overrated considering how expensive it is. Also, their computer software does not work well with golf now. Constant check out errors. There always seems to be something they complain about. The latest is I hit some balls after the round and was told you can only hit balls before the round. Like come on. How petty can you get? There are just too many good golf courses out there that do not treat you like that. As they take your hard earned money, they act like it is a priviledge for you to play there, rather than they are happy you are there.
Good shape and good value for August golf
Greens ran a tad slow, but were smooth and consistent. Fairways, bunkers and transition areas were all in very good shape. Front side is quite a bit more open so pace of play was quick. Back nine is tighter with more blind tee shots; couple that with back to back par 5’s and things got painfully slow. Being severely backed up, had threesome roll up behind our foursome on the back and started yelling at us to hurry. Had to call pro shop to have Ranger come out to talk to the threesome. After the 16th hole the threesome decided to head to the clubhouse, after which, one of the players confronted a member of our group in the parking lot. Note: beware of mid 60’s blue shirt golfer with bad swing playing a yellow ball. He runs a bit hot. Aside from that, enjoyed the round.
Course in great condition, greens were a bit fast it was cold and snow show up on 16th hole with freezing hands we were able to finish 18 holes
Overpriced
Don’t expect mats on range or grass growing in bunkers for this price. Gas carts are a pain as well. Carts don’t have GPS either. Pretty good layout
Enjoyable course
This is a nice course and a nice facility. The layout was good. Particularly enjoyed the back nine with some very nice holes both visually and architecturally. Good conditions. Greens were quite nice; relatively fast and rolled true. 90 degree from path suggested but basically free to drive fairways. Would definitely play it again.
Legend Trail - Great Value for the Money
Legend Trail never disappoints! Great track, smooth and true greens, fun and challenging layout, course is in great shape this time of year, staff incredibly friendly to players of all levels, friendly Cart Ladies (great hot chocolate!), and a great overall experienced. My favorite element of Legend however… wonderful views! Great value for the price.
Fun course.
Fun course, challenging. Only one hole with water, but lots of long carry’s in the back nine. Challenging if you are not a big hitter.
Birthday Round
Great condition for just coming out of overseeding
