had a fun time
Not super challenging and very busy course but pace was fair and everything moved ok.We did wait at holes for shots but I have come to believe thats just how it is now most anywhere on the weekend.Just have good company and relax and enjoy the time out together(beats the heck out of staying in the house right?)
great track
great track and its conditions. the greens are large and they use color flags for pin placements. only thing is the course greens arent as fast as the practice greens. plenty of carts during covid. driving range looks fun and full of guest. although there are signs that mask are required, only one employee wore a mask, the marshal. everyone else incl locals do NOT wear mask. the previous yelpers are correct, the pro shop staff is "iffy".
Good course good people good times
Port of Chicago Diablo Creek Golf Course has come a long way these last few months and grass is all over the course, sand is good, greens are ok, sometimes a bit slow but yesterday they single cut and rolled and WOW what an incredible improvement in green speed. Nice and true and with mild weather that’s how these POA Annua greens go. Fairways are in A plus condition.
Hit a driver off deck on hole 3 and got home with two 300 yard smacks!
Wide open, straight and long, trouble is actually everywhere out here if you look around and if not on your toes.
A+ course right now. A very busy gold mine.
Course is in Great Shape
Played this morning and the course is in great condition. In addition the staff was helpful and they were very well prepared with the current guidelines in place.
Overpriced
The course is extremely overpriced. The pace of the play was extremely slow. Too many beginners and no Marshall. There’s no golf attire requirement, just not a course I’ll recommend to friends and family.
Great Course!
The course was in great shape & the pace of play was good!
Staff was very accommodating and the restaurant was fantastic!
Highway Course
The staff was great, the course well maintained except for a couple of tee boxes. It was, however, quite noisy from the traffic on two highways and an Army base that had a locomotive intent on letting everyone know within range that it was running.
Staff amazing
Facilities and staff were amazing. The regulars not quite so much. Not sure if I'd go again, but their deal was a good one. There is a possibility I would check it out again in the future, but I would think twice about it.
Play f the pace
At second hole, already two foursome waiting then at hole no. 4 for short hole, three some waiting...!! This hole no. 4 is always 2~3 four some waiting. This isnigood at all .
Slooooooow Play
I left before completing the 6th hole. It took two hours so I was looking at a 6+ hour round which is unusual for Diablo Creek. I did the prepay for $58 and regret it. I called the pro shop to ask why every hole had two groups waiting to tee off. I was told there were 350 players on the course. That’s no excuse to subject any golfer to a 6 hour round. I’ve played here a lot over the years but they just lost a customer between the pace of play and the fact no Marshalls were anywhere to be found to speed up play and the blase attitude of the guy I spoke to in the pro shop (and it wasn’t Bob who has always been great to deal with).
Diablo Creek
Played this course many times before but not in the last 4-5 years. I’ve always liked the course because I play the hilly courses in the Bay Area, and this is flat enough to walk and not exhaust yourself...unless you play on the day that I did when it was 105°. Glad I got a cart.
Greens are Perfect!!!
The greens were in perfect shape and rolled true. The tea boxes and fairways were decent. Great day out!!
Way overpriced
Spend your dollars elsewhere, there are so many better courses in the area for either less money or the same, and they have better layouts, better pace of play, better amenities.
Popular course, very busy
Diablo is a popular course that get lots of olay even on weekdays. Pace of play is normally slow (5 hours) but today it was on pace for 5-6 hours. Flat wide fairways and large, mostly flat greens attract many hackers. Conditions are good for a course with this much play. Fairways and tee boxes have green grass with few brown patches. Greens are fairly smooth but there are lots of ball marks due to rude golfers who dont fix their ball marks. Make sure you have lots of time if you play here, figure on 5 hours minimum.
Golf is back baby!
As always, the course was in great condition & the staff was super friendly!
Not sure why, but It got a little backed up on the back nine.
Didn’t really matter, it was a great day at Diablo Creek!
No refunds
I had hot deals T-times , the day of corona virus outbreak my other golfers couldn’t play, it was also raining. I called the course spoke with the Manager and she told me she called her golf now rep and they would contact me. Basically I’m done with golf now and this course. All I asked for was credit towards another tee time. They offered nothing!
Not really good service by either
Open fairways, tough pins
Had a good time today, I'm not the straightest off the tee, so wide fairways are my friend. Good condition, decent pace of play too. But the greens, wow some tough pin placements for us amateurs. Still a good course. Clubhouse and restaurant/bar are ok. In general the whole place is a bit dated.
