Jacksonville Beach Golf Club
About
The newly revamped Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, built in 1959, is one of the only public access courses on Jacksonville's Beaches. The golf course was originally designed by Sam Snead.
The changes at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club began with the rebuilding and modernizing of more than half the greens on the golf course, along with some new bunkers and bulkheads to add to the already beautiful look.
The 18-hole golf course measures 6,510 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.9, with a slope rating of 126.

Well done upgrade
Excellent value for the money got an 810 T time on a Friday and was paired with 2 gentlemen were very friendly and gracious . we got around in 3 hours in spite of my errant shots the course itself had excellent greens and was a pleasure to play. A bit wet in spots. staff was very pleasant from the cart personnel to the snack bar and pro shop. I shot above my handicap because of the challenges of dormant Bermuda rough.
Too slow to even finish 18
great improvements on the course - any overall negatives on the review is due to the 4 1/2 hour pace.
$20 on a nice course is a deal but when you only squeeze in 14-15 holes it becomes less so....
There were usually 3 groups on each hole - one on the green, one waiting in the fairway and us sitting on the tee.
Management needs to make 10 minute increments between tee times at least during peak days
Worth the wait
I swore off this course a couple of years ago but now I can’t wait to get back out there, great job! The new greens and improved course layout make this a fun and player friendly destination course. I love the new and improved putting and chipping greens the imulate the course greens to a tee also!
New remodel is excellent!
New remodel and new layout is great! The new paspalum greens roll pure. Course is in great shape! One of my favorites to play in Jax! Easy course to walk as well and in the afternoon you can walk it for practically nothing. Amazing practice facility!
Municipal course
Jax Beach golf club was in fantastic condition for the amount of traffic. I played on a Tuesday at 12:30 and was directed to start on back nine. I soon realized the reason behind this was there was a women's league on the front nine. The pace was exscruciatingly slow for the entire 18 holes as we were a twosome stuck behind a threesome that was stuck behind a foursome which had the whole course backed up.
Great shape great staff
Course is in great shape . Renovated and reopened last fall.
Great staff.!
The course is great even on a blistering hot day with to the ocean breeze. Great Layout. The water makes it a little difficult For an inexperienced golfer. Will return soon.
New Layout is Great
With the new renovations Jacksonville Beach GC is back and better than ever! Greens are great!
Presidents day outing
They did a great job on the renovation of the course. My only suggestion would be to place sand holders on the par three holes so people are more likely to fill in divots.
Nice redo of this course
The round was going great until we got behind a playing lesson with Mary and some kid and 2 other guys on hole 7 and we waited on them for every hole. There was a slow group in front of them and no ranger on course to move the pace of play along. Why would you give a playing lesson in mid afternoon on a Monday? Very disappointing

Such nice renovation courses
And specially Mary at reception and Francis (starter) are excellent personalities and so nice
Course looks great!
Kudos to Jacksonville Beach residents for investing in the municipal golf course and making what are so many very positive changes. I recently played the course for the first time after the renovations and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Top of the list is of course the greens and all I can say is Wow! Also, while some holes have been shortened, the revised holes still pose a challenge and require some strategy. I will strongly recommend this course to fellow golfers.
Phenomenal Course!
Best Greens I’ve ever seen at a public course hands down! Everything was great! The cart attendants provided me with the best service possible. 10 out of 10.
Not as good as last time
I enjoyed playing here today however the fairways seem to have taken a step back from a few weeks ago. They are very dry and a bit difficult to hit from. The greens are still rolling fast and true and the bunkers are fluffy and easy to hit out of. The putting and chipping practice areas are nice. And the cart girl is very friendly.
Fantastic
We played there about 3 years ago and said we would never go back. The course was in such rough shape. 3 years forward and a complete renovation. Ranks as one of the best courses I’ve played. Hats off to the golf maintenance staff
very nice golf experience
if we could slow down the greens and speed up the rounds I'd give a perfect 10 !
To the reviewer who blamed the walkers - that's just not so. I played on a cold day when the crowds were down and I swear I got in 9 holes in 65 minutes - walking !
Its the crowds that keep things slow and one round we got stuck behind a foursome who were taking their sweet time lining up every putt for so long you'd think it was for big $$$ - they were in carts and we finished in 4:15
