Aldeen Golf Club

I play here a few times a year and I'm never disappointed. Course is always in top notch shape. The greens were aerated, but still rolled true. One of my favorite places to play. Such a great layout& challenging but fair holes. Look forward to my next round there already!

The course was in great shape. It was a 5 hour round. They really needed a ranger.

I love playing at Aldeen. The problem was that it rained so much the day and night before we played, so there was a lot of standing water.

The greens were great. They held the ball on line when you made a putt. Of course there is too much water on the front nine which makes it a difficult course for a weak golfer. The beautiful trees and water is what make it a great course.

I drive 50 miles to play here.Challenging but fair.Always in great shape.Hole 8 is an island green par 3.Holes 10 thru 13 are long,tough holes with water and sand.Nice par 5 finishing hole around a lake.Huge practice green,as well as a separate practice facility.

Great practice facility. Course is beautifully landscaped. Creatively challenging.

Best course for the $ within 20 miles!!

The course was in excellent shape and the staff was very friendly. I am usually very critical of the Rockford Park District, however they seem to put all their time, money and energy into this facility. There are nicer courses in the area for less money but again, when a golf course runs like it should, they deserve credit, a pat on the back and a recommendation. Aldeen is a good place play.

Great golf round at Aldeen. Course is in awesome shape with very consistent greens. Will definitely be back.

Fairways are wide enough for average golfers.
Several tee choices for every golfers of every skill level.

Signed up as single and met 3 very nice guys and had a great time. The course is beautiful and in great condition. Greens are nice and very difficult. Will definitely play here again.

Let me first start by saying that there was an absolute downpour for about 10 or 15 minutes, ending about 15 minutes before we teed off. The course in most of the areas, absorbed the water well, and there were no ill effects from the rain. The fairways were in great condition, the greens ran true and fast. It is a distance for me to go here (~60 miles), but I will definitely golf here again.

Challenging and Scenic, Nice fairways and plenty of trees

I enjoy this course immensely. The course layout is exceptional with the placement of holes and tees challenging any player. Hazfards must be avoided and shot/ club selection comes into play on nearly every hole.

This place is amazing.
Great shot makers course with the right blend of water and sand to make things interesting.
The greens are the best around and for a park district facility the value for money is exceptional.
Some people may criticize the side by side layout of some of the holes 1-4, 10-12 but each hole has its own character and challenges. Highlights are the island green par 3 8th hole and the par 5s on 1 & 18.
Aldeen held the IL state amateur and this is true recognition of its standing and overall pedigree.
Not ideal for beginners even with the variety of tee boxes. Best suited to those who typically score 85 or below.

Course is in excellent early season condition fairways and greens are running wel. Vast amount of wildlife from coyotes to blue heron this course is very pleasing to the ey and offers a championship test to players with 6 sets of tees there is fun for everyone at aldeen!

Course was in excellent shape for November 9th. Pace of play was perfect and you can't beat a $17 round with a cart at Aldeen!

Aldeen makes you feel like you are playing at a Country Club.

Beautiful course (and weather, too)! Deceptively challenging, quick greens with tough pin placements. Water in play on many holes, with a creek that crosses the fairway on multiple holes, requiring choices about whether to lay up or hit over them. Fairways and rough in very good shape, even this late in the year. Easily one of the best public courses for the money I have ever played.

Outstanding! One of the best courses - and best bang for the buck, in Illinois. Love playing here - only able to do once a year due to distance - but worth the trip.
