I can't believe I paid money for that
I've always liked the layout at Lakeville CC, and the conditions in recent years have deteriorated, I knew that going in. But I figured I could get out early and buzz through a quick round. I ended up being so mad at myself for paying money for this. I know we're in a drought, but these conditions were not because of the drought. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways were non-existent. Greens were dead in huge sections. Some had some sort of longer growth on them. Just terrible. Too bad, since I've always liked the layout. I've attached a couple pictures. I won't be back. Too bad, it's so convenient for me to get there.
I'll never come back
I truly think even $35 for this place with a cart is still a rip off. Simply because of the conditions. I paid double that and left completely annoyed and dissatisfied
Poorly Maintained Greens
The maintenance of these greens was atrocious. Weeds and crabgrass galore. Implemented auto-two putt rule because there was no consistency. Felt like playing plinko on these greens. Invest in some weed killer, and/or bring your prices way down as this round turned into a glorified range session.
What happened to this place ?
I’m a member at this club and I probably won’t return, that’s how bad it is . Very disappointed of the way this place went downhill. What a shame,
Course lacks direction and upkeep
Greens full of weeds and NO clue as to which direction each hole is even with map. Cart GPS is horrendous and our cart battery died going up last hill. For the price you’d expect a lot more but course condition is lacking severely for a “country club”.
Horrible
My front yard is in better condition than these greens. Unputtable.
Poor maintenance
I have played this course a few times in earlier years. The greens are in horrible shape, grabgrass, dead spots, ball marks. It’s too bad because it’s a fun wide open course and you can easily find your ball.
I will not return.
Atrocious
Talk about flushing cash down the toilet, this place is a dump. So painful to witness neglect to this degree. If the green has grass on it, it’s crabgrass. The “rough” is just overgrown lawn/weeds with thousands of white flowers so you lose balls on decent shots just off the fairway or green. I guess there’s talk of an Amazon warehouse being built on this site? Might as well do it. This place could be good, but the people running it couldn’t care less. Total travesty. Never again.
What a disappointment
I’ve been playing this course for 15 years plus, haven’t been since before COVID, maybe a couple years before that even. I saw the bad reviews but figured I’d give it a chance. Bad decision.
The tee boxes are half dirt, and overgrown in spots. Hard to get even footing. Greens are worse, diseased, uneven, weeds in a lot of them. Almost like putting on a bad fairway.
I love some of these holes but man the condition of the course is not good. Hopefully they can turn it around soon. I won’t be back unless I hear different.
Parking lot golf course
Cant even believe its not a public course, atleast a public course it would make a little sense why it was so terrible. Looked the just occasionally swapped tre boxes for putting greens there was so many pits in the surface. Like to play dodge ball while you putt? Cause thats how the layout appears. Carts yell at you if you go off the path of which there is no cart path to speak of. The group behind you will be right up your backside due to the tee times and that the carts just randomly stop all forward momentum for who knows what reason. The cost… just take the fine from town and hit balls on the public baseball fields its cheaper, or putt around in your driveway its smoother. The cart that goes around candy and chips…. If it wasnt for the cart girl was nice then id say get rid of the whole thing.
Parking lot or golf course
Parking lot is flatter and has less pot holes that the putting surfaces. 2 holes directly next to each other so either wait for both greens to clear off or you will be hitting someone. Heard “fore” more than any course i have ever played and not due to bad golfers but the directions in which you have to hit. Only saw 2 employees and they were nice enough, but with the way the course was overall to play, I will not return here.
Awful, overpriced, and not worth it.
I’ve been playing this course a couple times a year (when tee times at other courses are fully booked) for maybe 10 years. The course condition has deteriorated greatly as time has passed. The tee boxes are horrific and the greens not much better. It’s sad bc it’s a decent layout. Unfortunately over the years they decided to spend more on the clubhouse and maintenance facility/cart storage than on the course.
Save your money and play a cheaper 9hole course as your last resort.
Lakeville
The course is challenging with lots of water and bunkers but some of the tee boxes are not well aligned and not enough signage to move you properly from one hole to the next. The white clover in the rough, which was very high and needed cutting, made it virtually impossible to find you ball in some holes. I lost six balls and my partner lost nine. The greens were slow and not well manicured. The course just needs some investment and upgrading. Finally, the golf carts insisted on 90 degree turns which I took in nearly every instance, but the cart kept shutting down and forcing me back to the cart path. What’s the sense of renting a cart if you can’t drive it on the fairways?
Golf carts
Golf carts suck get rid of the restrictions and I will come back until them not coming back
