Greens are extremely bumpy
Not sure who exactly is writing the recent reviews about the greens, but they are probably the worst I've played this season in town. They are better than when I played here last year, but there are dead spots all over. We laughed about how we needed to hit down on some of our putts since they were in divots. I like the fact that I had to use most of my clubs in the bag and it was relatively empty. But the layout of the course and the quality of the greens will keep us away in the future.
Great Value
This course is challenging and very difficult the first few times playing, once you understand the layout you can lower your score quickly. Fun to play, nice staff, and very reasonably priced.
Deer Run Country Club
Excellent course. Greens are one of the best in the area as they roll true without bouncing!
Nice course
Nice course. Can get into trouble if your not straight. Greens are good.
Fun course
This is a fun course to play! Great condition. Will be back.
Nice course, Challenging
First, I understand the course is to be closed after this year to make way for more houses, this is a shame.
The course is typical of courses built through a subdivision, with long distances between holes making a cart mandatory for us older types. I find the course to be very challenging, requiring sood tee shots.
The greens are in excellent condition.
course was very green and soft.
Cheap price great course. Good time. Good food. Nice staff
The lowdown on Deer Run
It was a smaller sort of run down place. The fairways were in rough shape as well as the greens and the rough. Overall not a very challenging course either.
Fantastic Conditions
We booked 2 Tee times on GN with 6 guys and one backed out and the guy there let us just play 5 to a group. We had the course to ourselves. Couldn't be happier.
Deer Run
Over all I have to say it is a good course for beginners like me. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was in excellent condition considering the winter we had and the time they had to work on it.
value
You cant beat this course for the price I have played it 3 times since February and each time the conditions have improved and the course is in very good shape right now. The staff is always friendly, the only thing I don't like about the course are the hills but hey its Cincinnati and most courses have them and deer run uses them well. Check out this course you should like it
Fun Course for Good Price
Great course design, very budget-friendly pricing, play anytime before July and expect great course conditions. Potential to dry out some during the summer.
First day of spring
The course still needed a lot of cleanup and preparation after a rough winter.
District manager
The staff was great, and we had an excellent round of golf.
Great people working there
We have played Deer Run many times, the course has some tough holes, lots of trees, lots of hills, but it's very playable. The people are always very friendly and get you off at your tee time. It was pretty crowded when we played, first 70 degree day of the year, but we still managed to get in 18 in 4 hours.
Challenging course with reachable par 5s.
Course in very good condition with consistant green speed. Staff is very cordial.
Nice Trak but they were doing maintenance this day
I have played Deer Run many times over the past couple of years and I have seen the course go down hill until the new owners took over. They are making the necessary investments to keep this interesting and challenging course in good condition. On this date they were aerating the greens so we could not complete our round so the very nice woman in the golf shop gave us a rain check for another round. The overall course has some interesting holes including many which have large elevation changes. The greens are normally in good condition and I expect after being top dressed they will be ready for play in a week or two and for spring next year. I plan on going back to Deer Run next year and withe specials on GolfNow this course is a great value.
Great Value
Great value. Course is fairly well kept. On the short end distance wise. Greens tend to be a little slow.
What a comeback!!!
Prior to yesterday, for the past two years I had been avoiding Deer Run like the plague. Conditions in the past were almost unplayable with diseased fairways and ground hornets overrunning the entire layout. Huge congrats to the staff there for really turning it around. Fairways were nicely kept, and greens are almost back to their glory years (Club Championship 10 years ago were running at about 13 on the Stimp). Even with the 4 inches of rain on Friday, there was very little standing water other than in a few bunkers, and greens still rolled out nicely. If the hillbillies playing the course could replace their divots, i would've rated it pristine. I would gladly play there several more times this season, and wouldn't even need the GolfNow rate. Job well done!
Pretty nice course, especially for the price
Pretty well maintained, haven't had to deal with too much waiting. If you get a cart without a governer though watch your speed on the hills especially if it is wet out lol
