Great layout, Decent conditions, Few complaints.
This course has a great layout! Greens rolled well for this time of year. However, they definitely need to step it up in maintaining the rest of the course. Lots of debris, downed tree limbs, mud chunks in fairways and near greens, some of the traps had hardly any sand in them. There is also a miniature homeless camp on the back 9, so you might be heckled off #14. While I understand this course gets a lot if play and is going under new management the small things they can do to make it a better golf experience. I would recommend this course to others, but definitely won't be going back until late spring or summer to allow them to get the rest of the course in shape. Fingers crossed that Kemper Sports Management gets this course back to the potential it has once had in earlier years.
Eastmoreland in February
Inexpensive round in winter conditions. Few golfers out, pace was very good. Course was in rough shape with mud and goose poop, but to be fair Portland has been experiencing cold and wet weather.
Extremely Muddy!
I always like Eastmoreland but the Mud throughout the course today way was awful! Going down the middle of the fairways, your cart wheels would be coated with at least a half inch of mud. Every time your ball landed you had to clean off your ball. Had to wipe off your clubs with every swing and the bottom of my shoes where also at least a half inch thick with mud. You could try and scrape if off but it would all come back by the next whole.
Definitely my worst experience in many years and won't be back until spring at best.
It’s cool 😎
Played in January. Fairways were drier than I expected, balls were not plugged despite lots of recent rain. Not a lot of grass to speak of, in fairways and greens. I assume it fills out on the spring. Lots of goose poop everywhere making it difficult to keep nice. Layout seems pretty cool, even has an island green basically. Some interesting cut the corner options with driver. Fair bit of bunkering and water. Bunkers not kept in shape during winter, super firm. Overall it’s decent and priced at a good value.
Poorly maintained
This course is a nice length and is pretty difficult, but is poorly maintained. I wish that they did a little more work on it, but the greens are patchy, fringes are hard and have tons of gaps with no grass, and there are mud pits throughout where sprinklers are broken. I though when I came 2 months ago that it was just a bad day/time, but it’s still the same.
Great conditions and pace
Greens were in great condition and rolling pretty fast, great round of golf though cold.
Very Disappointing
Proshop is empty. The course is in poor condition. Not much oversight and overall very disappointing
Fall golf
What a joy to be able to play so close to home. With all the use this course gets, it is still in great condition. Sand is going down on tee boxes and last week on the greens so be aware. What a gem!
Golfing
First 9-hole is relative relax, like a warm-up for the back 9-hole challenge layout. It's best time to play here in this season.
East Moreland
Classic old course - good pace of play for Sunday afternoon, if you can look past the goose poop, you will have a good time.
