Good time
We found the course on golf now. We played about 8:45 a.m. and the course was Dewey but we beat the rush and finished in 3 hours. I can't say how long it would take later in the day. It was just beautiful out and peaceful we were two people by ourselves.
Getting better
The course has come a long way In a year. In April.24, it is back to playable conditions again. The greens are back to 7 or 8 out of 10. The fringe is rough, lots of bare spots so impossible to chip and very rough to try to putt thru. The fairways have some tough spots, but overall easy to play on.
If the course continues to improve at this rate, it will be a course worth looking forward to playing again by the end of the year.
Davis Love design that needs some TLC
This could be a really nice course, as the routing is very interesting. However, the conditions are sub-par, with weeds growing on the greens (and irrigation issues in the center of one green), fairways and bunkers not very well maintained, and some barren tee boxes. If they doubled their golf maintenance budget, and made some major investment into cleaning up the greens, this course would shine. Played this with a GolfPass Hot Deal, and not sure I would play it again even at that price. Starter was also a bit crotchety :(
Overall a very good experience
Course length was great, some tough par 4 holes. Most of the putting greens had a mix of two grasses, however putts did roll true. Two of the greens had huge partially repaired holes / trenches? Maybe drainage areas not repaired well. I would definitely play Eagle Pointe again.
Course was very wet from the previous day’s rainfall. Cart path only.
Cold weather delayed course grass growth.
Very poor golf conditions.
What a dump
The greens were covered with weeds. One green had a trench in it about 12 inches wide probably from a mole that was there last year when I played. The bathrooms were disgusting and the sand traps had no sand in them, just mud. What a dump.
Eager beavers
Greens were really nice. Staff was over eager to help you with cart and club cleaning. Just a personal choice of mine, I want to take my time to gather up after a round, and I don’t like grown men scrambling for a tip. For example, we were on the green on 18 and I look over and some guy walked out on course and is wiping down our clubs. Go get em!
Asked for a ranger to check out the slow play. Couldn’t have cared less. Expect a 5 hour round
