Bayou Oaks City Park North Course
About
Golf has been played at City Park since 1902 when the nine-hole New Orleans Golf Club opened. At the time it was one of only 80 golf courses in the country. There were four 18-hole courses at the complex before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The North Course was rebuilt in 2009 and now there is also a 36-hole mini-golf complex. The course is just over 5,400 yards from the back tees and features water on eight holes. Proper club selection is the key to scoring well on this layout. The golf course is popular among both locals and visitors because it's not only player friendly enough to accommodate all skill levels but its location is also easily accessible from anywhere in New Orleans. The affordable rates make it even more appealing and there's also a 74-stall driving range.

What a joke
I will never give money to this course again. The pace of play was horrendous with no help from the marshal. The greens were spotty, dry, hard as rock, and entirely too fast. I’m a budget-minded golfer, I dont stick my nose up at any course. I prefer finding value in municipal courses where I feel like I’m getting the most for my money. You wont find that at this course. Don’t waste your time. Coming from the second hole we passed a group who had driven their cart into a lake. On 7, I looked to my left and there was a 5some doing donuts in the fairway and driving their cart onto the green. Coming off of nine, there were 5 new groups in front of us in line for the 10th tee. What. A. Joke.
Golfing during the pandemic
Had a blast... i joined up with another single for the front and two more guys to finish the round. I finished in 3 hours and 25 minutes.. Greens were in decent shape and pace was ok considering the number of golfers out... Weather was great too!!!

Hi, thanks for playing the North course! Please note that we do advertise on Golfnow that the hot deal price does not include the golf cart as carts are very limited due to COVID-19.

Great budget/beginner course
Greens were in bad shape, but its winter. Very average city course, if you're looking to practice or are a new golfer, this is the spot. Price is great if you're playing on a budget.
Thank you for playing the north course!
Great fun
Fun course use lots of clubs n your bag. Greens pretty spotty but its winter time. love playing here
NEES quite a bit of work
I play this course frequently. Enjoying it for practice but the short chipping really sucks! The work that's needed is neglected because of the management across the street. They treat the workers poor and neglect having any real serious attention. What can anyone say. The so called big shot management is never available to discuss anything whatsoever. But "This is America!" But I do enjoy the workers on this coarse. And it is a nice coarse to play practice on.
lol
Worst course i have ever played. First time i considered leaving a round after nine. Course was in awful conditions. I thought the green was the rough with how long the grass was. Not a good experience
Poor golf Etiquette
Course does a poor job of maintaining pace of play. Allowed a group of 6 and a foursome with a walker on consecutive holes plus another group of 6 a couple holes ahead, which the groups couldn’t play either. Nobody from the course came out to tell them to speed up.
Start Over
Just blow this up, and restart from scratch. Awful. Just awful.
Only if you can't afford someplace else.
I'm a typical budget-conscious muni golfer who's seen a lot of cheaper courses, and this may be one of the worst. The greens were so sandy, rough and sloooooooooow that a couple of them should have had bunker rakes next to them. The bunkers on the other hand had so little sand that it was best to play a clean-contact pitch out of them. On the plus side, the weather was great, and I got paired up with a couple local girls who were a real pleasure to play with. The carts are surprisingly nice, too, complete with GPS.
Nice place
Course is in good shape and well maintained. Staff was friendly. Carts have gps and tv screen to give you yardage.mostly par 4s and a lot of par 3s. But still challenging enough to play a good game. For an old course it’s a nice course. Will play it again and would recommend to friends.
Very poor greens
You get what you pay for. Nice spot for a beginner. For those with a little more experience and money, play the south.
Not worth it
Me and my friend played here the other day (both juniors). We were gonna rent a cart and share it. They wouldn't let share a cart, so they charge us 15 bucks each plus a green fee. This rule was apparently established yesterday. Hasn't really rained in about 5 days, so no excuse for bad conditions. Fairway were crazy muddy, huge piles of grass clippings everywhere, mud on greens, and mud in bunkers. Kind and pathetic. The greens were basically unplayable, with weeds everywhere. Not worth the 25 bucks. If you're in new orleans go play joe bartholomew.
did not get to play. HEAVY RAIN. Waiting on refund. Will rebook thru GolfNow next week.
awful
Bought a $15 tee time; that is a walking fee.. add another 15/ person for a cart.
Not bad still though right...?
There is no one organizing anything at this course. There were a 4some, 4some, one guy on his own, my twosome, and a foursome behind me all trying to tee off at the same exact time.
Whoever cuts the course either hates oglf or doesn't understand that leaving huge mudtracks in the fairway don't make for a good time. Course doesn't drain... they stopped bothering to pick up the huge clumps of grass clippings, smells like swamp gas...
It is not pleasant.
Thank you for playing the North course!
