Bayou Oaks City Park North Course
About
Golf has been played at City Park since 1902 when the nine-hole New Orleans Golf Club opened. At the time it was one of only 80 golf courses in the country. There were four 18-hole courses at the complex before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The North Course was rebuilt in 2009 and now there is also a 36-hole mini-golf complex. The course is just over 5,400 yards from the back tees and features water on eight holes. Proper club selection is the key to scoring well on this layout. The golf course is popular among both locals and visitors because it's not only player friendly enough to accommodate all skill levels but its location is also easily accessible from anywhere in New Orleans. The affordable rates make it even more appealing and there's also a 74-stall driving range.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2021 #23)
Reviews
Worst course I have ever played
Great course if you like over grown fairways and standing water all over the fairways. This course was in really rough shape. The greens were dead and had patches of weeds and grass on them. Putting was fun because you had to navigate the ball around all of the weeds. The cart girl had your choice of chips and snickers bars. We went in for food and they had hotdogs and that was it. I didn't see a starter monitoring the first hole and I watched as people just tee'd off when they were ready, even though they were hitting into the people in front of them. I think this would be a great course if you have never played golf and didn't know what a course should look like.
Not worth the price
Course is not worth the $35 green fee for a Par 67 course with flat greens. Especially not when other courses in the area offer $25 weekday fees for courses in much better condition. The staff was friendly though.
First time playing on course and had a great time.
The course had plenty par 3s, which was great efforts for my short game. Will definitely return and play.
North Course--good value
We really like playing this course, the only down side is that its way too crowded at times. The staff could not have been nicer the first few times we played, but not so much this time from the cashier to the starter.
very mundane course
The course needs to be updated and maintained.Louisiana has had issues with hurricanes and have lost all but this one course in City Park.
simple course, good value with golfnow
Golfnow gave us a great deal to go out and play ($18 for 18 holes with a cart.) It's a simple course with flat and somewhat poorly maintained greens, so I'd say their full price is not necessarily worth it, but with golfnow, we definintely got our money's worth. The course is very open with wide fairways, making for a relatively easy round of golf. I hadn't played in months, and still had a better than average round, which should be a good testament to the difficulty of the course. The greens definitely need some work, it was still a fun time at a great price.
For thier price increases cousre in poor shape!
this course is know for it's poor pace of place and now the prices have gone up but the condition of the course is very poor. Some greens have sod just layed in bar spots. the city really needs to get its act together and manage this course! Would not play there again at these prices when there are so many course to choose from at this price point and in much better shape!
