Barbara & Bruce Pine Hill
My wife and I are traveling in our RV and we play golf when we have the extra time. This course had staff that was not very friendly. The club house old and dirty. The course was a public course and was in need of updating. Green were in good condition but the rest of the course was in need of work. It had rained and the course was very wet but it did not hinder play. I would not recommend this course to a friend. I'm sure the locals like the course for the price. It's not a course I would play again when traveling to Memphis, Tenn.
Fun to play
Greens are in great shape, fun course to play. Great value for the price.
Easy game play, very limited ammenities
The course itself was pretty straightforward. There are a few narrow fairways, but most holes are pretty forgiving. There were no water hazards, and very few bunkers. The greens were slow and I might have had a few long putts that turned - most were pretty straight shots as the greens hardly roll.
This would be a fun course for beginners, but if you're looking for a challenge (or to feel like you're a lower handicap than you really are) this is a good course for you. The club house doesn't offer range balls so don't plan on warming up on the range, and have very few amenities inside. You can buy some drinks and balls, but it's very empty. The carts are gas powered and relatively new, and on a Sunday afternoon in Sept I was surprised at how empty the course was.
Pine Hill
The course was in good shape but the greens need some attention. The clubhouse is remodeling. The carts are brand new.
Pretty cool course
Links at Pine Hill is a great course. The carts looked and drove like they were brand new. The staff provided us with a map of the facility in a booklet format and it helped me out to understand how the course was set up. Lots of opportunities to get birdies and pars!
Some of the greens were not kept well so the ball sometimes rolled in a direction you did not plan out in your head but for the value of the price, this is awesome. I am not an expert golfer by any means but I really really enjoyed playing this course.
I made an 100 foot chip shot for a birdie and an 50 foot putt for par which totally made my day!
Well first of all, this course isn’t designed to hold your hand and coddle to your every wim. It’s a municipal course with a very good history, especially being located in the ghetto. You and your wife we’re probably expecting too much, which is weird because like I said, it’s in the
ghetto...get yo persnickety dumb bass outta here
